- Mae Ai We take the highway, heading north of Chiang Mai to reach Chiang Dao, where relaxing lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Chiang Dao cave. Then ride along the fantastic mountainous road until reach Tha Ton, where you will visit the Wat Tha Ton on top of the mountains and enjoy the amazing sunset there. Later you relax in your charming accommodation with a fantastic panorama view.
- Golden Triangle After breakfast, we leave Tha Ton to visit the long-neck Karen tribe village near the border of Thailand and Myanmar. Ride to Doi Mae Salong, where Chinese mountain tea farmers live. Of course, you will test Thailand´s best tea there. Then back on curvy roads to Doi Tung Royal Villa. Visit the Winter Palace and the botanical garden. Lunch is served at the Royal’s Project restaurant. Continue along winding roads to Mae Sai, the northernmost point of Thailand. Visit Wat Tham Pla where you can feed some food to wild monkeys. Reach the Golden Triangle to take a long-tail boat trip on the Mekong river and short visit a small village in Laos (no visa necessary). Visit the Opium museum before relaxing at your peaceful accommodation directly at the mighty Mekong River.
- Nan After breakfast, ride along a scenic farming area road to Chiang Rai city. After that visit the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) one of the top 10 wonder temples in the world. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Ride the exhilarating, mountainous highway to Nan. Visit Wat Phra That Khao Noi (Nan hilltop scenic temple) before relaxing in your lovely accommodation and jump in the swimming pool. Later you will discover and enjoy Nan´s nightlife.
- Nan A day of leisure. Today we’re doing nothing at all. Relaxing by the pool or shopping in the town. Optionally you can, of course, discover the historical and cultural sites of unseen Nan by bicycles. (Laundry service available)
- Phayao City After breakfast, we leave Nan riding through winding mountainous roads via the famous and motorcycle paradise road R1081 the Bo Kluea. Here we will visit the Bo Kluea salt wells. Then we continue through Doi Phu Kha National Park to Chiang Klang where we will have lunch in a local restaurant. Ride the exhilarating, mountainous highway No. 1148 to Nan, ranked in the Top 10 as one of the most fun biking roads to be found anywhere in the world. 120 kilometers of up and down curves through the impressive mountains providing you with pure riding pleasure. Then we cruise along the highway R1021 through farming areas to Phayao. Discover Kwan Phayao Lake, which is one of the biggest lakes in Thailand. The town of Phayao at the southeast corner of the lake. Then we arrive and relax at the charming accommodation.
- Chiang Mai After breakfast, leaving unseen Phayao. Ride around Phayao lake (Kwan Phayao) one of the largest lakes in Northern Thailand. Continue riding on the windy mountain dream road R120 to Than Tong waterfall and Mae Kachan hot spring. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in front of the hot spring. Visit a local market, stopping for refreshment, before heading back to Chiang Mai

Our group of 13 riders and two support car passengers (the Dingoes) set out on the 10-day Northern Philippines tour on the 17th May 2026. We’d ridden Thailand and Vietnam with Big Bike Tours, both fabulous rides, so we had high expectations for this tour. I am happy to report that the experience met our expectations. The trip takes in sweeping coastal areas and winding mountain roads, so there is no shortage of beautiful scenery and ride-friendly bends. The roads were in great condition - as were the bikes - while the accommodation and food were top-notch, and the people were beautiful. A special mention to Kannan, the tour leader, Emil and Carlo, the support van and ute drivers, and Alvin, the ride sweeper. These guys were fantastic; always on the look-out to offer a helping hand and ensure we had the best possible experience. Would I recommend this tour ? Absolutely...
Great experience with this Tour Company. Everything was first class, i.e. Hotels, food, the route, the BWM bike and of course the company. Pong was a great tour guide as well as a skillful rider. Will be looking to do another tour with this Company.
Well organized with a backup vehicle to carry luggage and drinks. Hotels rooms were clean and spacious. Extremely good quality asphalt surfaces and superbly transitioned corners. Beware of SLIPPERY BITUMEN on some of the older surfaces and MOST of these were sign posted. A good fast speed is maintained, even in the towns, and traffic density is light for an Asian country. Horns don't appear to be necessary or used by the locals. Route 1148 is an absolute BLAST.
i went with my dad, Super nicely organized. you always are around 1hr 1.5hr riding between stops. Doesnt feel stressed at all. a group of max 10 people is the perfect size for these things the places you see are incredible and the organization is top notch. I was scared at firts because we didnt know what to encounter as first motorcycle trip, but everything was relaxed and felt amazingly smooth. The guide, Pong, was amazing and if you go with him you will have so much fun! totally recommend, for the price, this is a thing i will totally do again!

This was my second adventure with Big Bike Tours, Big Bike Tours does an outstanding job of handling all aspects of the adventure including great well maintained motorbikes, tour routes, scheduling, hotels, meals and points of interest. They are very adept in dealing with all planned as well as any logistics associated with any unplanned events that may occur during the tour. A really great organization and adventure!
I've been home a few weeks from my 6 day tour of northern Thailand. What an experience! The country was great - the food, the history, the people AND the ROADS! The way these folks pull off guiding so many groups at once is a pretty cool feat. We actually had 2 guides, Chao and Noah, due to how they switch guides mid stream to allow 3 thru 20 day tours to happen. We came together with 2 other groups for one stay and had good fellowship with others. One night, the owner, Kay had dinner with us and shared stories of his life, the history of BBT and past tour experiences. This is a class act! I will be back! Don't be afraid to book with Big Bike Tours!

Me and my wife signed up for the 6 days Northern Thailand tour and it was a beautiful experience for us from the time we set foot at Chiang Mai.
