Discover the heart of Osaka through its food. The famous phrase “Tenka no Daidokoro” (Kitchen of the Nation) has its roots in this area, Temma. This tour will take you through the lively Tenjinbashi shopping street, the longest shopping arcade in Japan with 800 small local shops. Learn about the rich food culture of the area as you indulge in authentic flavors. This tour includes: -A visit to the local market where Osaka's food culture began. -Savoring a variety of street food from the following options (depending on the date, some shops may be closed): Seasonal fruits, Korean roll sushi, Takoyaki, Sweet Mochi, Taiyaki, Matcha cheese tart, tofu pudding, curry bread, Green tea latte, or Coffee. - A sit-down lunch in the middle of the tour at one of the following: Yakiniku, ShabuShabu, Sukiyaki, Ramen, Tonkatsu, or grilled fish.

We had a lovely time with Kaori on our food tour. She showed us some amazing hidden gems in Temma, including a pottery shop when I mentioned wanting some chopstick rests! The food was amazing and it was a shame it was our last night so we couldn't go back to eat there again.
Our guide Kai, was amazing. She chose 3 exceptional restaurants, provided a great insight into Japanese cuisine and culture and was great company. We had a brilliant time.
Kaori took us to two restaurants and other street food. The food was excelent and she knew all the best places to go. Very friendly guide and we all chatted with her alot. We even went down an alley to a quiet, peaceful street away from the bustle of the other tourists. Thank you Kaori for a great experiance.
We took the Osaka Soul Food Walking Tour with Mayura Kai. Kai was a great tour guide with a good deal of local knowledge and an easy-going personality. We tried a variety of sweet and savoury snacks during a visit to the supermarket and food vendors. Many items were foods we would not have tried without her help. We ended with a ramen dish for lunch and learned that it's not rude to slurp when eating noodles... In fact it's a sign of appreciation. We would definitely recommend a food tour with Kai.
We had an amazing early evening food tour with Kai through Osaka. She took us to fabulous little restaurants we would never have found on our own and shared all her considerable food knowledge and Japanese customs (having been a chef herself for many years). I would highly recommend booking a tour with her if you are in Osaka
