Our small group tour from Derry down the Antrim Coastal Highway that was planned by Derry Blue Badge Guide could not have been better. With Michael, our guide, we experienced walking across Carrick-a-Rede Road Rope Bridge and stepping along the Giant’s Causeway. With his extensive knowledge we were able to avoid paying extra charges at these sites. On our day long tour we also enjoyed sampling a flight of Bushmills' whiskeys and viewing a number of spectacular sites along the way like Carrickfergus Castle. I believe we greatly benefited by booking with a locally owned touring company like Derry Blue Badge Guide. As we say in the States, for the best quality "buy local" if you can.
Keen was great! Extremely nice amd knowledgeable . If you could let him low we left a imbela in the back of the car. We will be here till Saturday if any way he can drop off
Kieran was an excellent guide and ambassador for Northern Ireland. He shared information in an amusing and interesting way. We learned a lot of history - and Irish myths. Beautiful views everywhere we looked! Kieran was very professional and dedicated to ensuring we greatly enjoyed the tour. He gave us excellent recommendations as well. We are greatly appreciative of him spending his day and sharing his knowledge with us!
We learned so much on our day tour with Michael. He had a wealth of knowledge about the history and geography of the area. Despite it being a soggy day, we had a wonderful experience touring Derry, Dunluce Castle, Portrush, and the Giant’s Causeway. Michael very patiently answered all of our questions, and tailored the tour to us, as we asked to deviate from the plan a bit - a definite advantage of a private tour. I highly recommend this excursion, and its operator!
Had an amazing day traveling with Michael Cooper himself. He is a thoughtful, intelligent and yet easy going man who brought the history of the area to life. My son and I learned a great deal from Michael’s deep knowledge of Irish history as well as his real life experiences during difficult times. Deidre with Blue Badge Guides was amazing. She met us right on time and gave us a beautiful drive along the coast. We made a special stop at Ballintoy to see the cemetery where some of my ancestors were buried. She was very solicitous of me as I have some mobility issues. Deidre also gave us a quick tour of Derry, where she has personal experience with the history. We all had a lovely time. I highly recommend touring with Blue Badge and Deidre.

We had a lovely afternoon with Michael. He was right on time and we wasted no time getting oriented to the city before heading out to Giants Causeway. Michael definitely knew his history local and otherwise which made it particularly nice for me being a history nerd. I liked getting his perspective as he's old enough to have experienced some of the good along with the challenging history and being in the bullseye of the Northern Ireland conflict made it particularly interesting. Unfortunately for us we were there in November when the sunlight has disappeared by 4:30 which made for a brisk trip to get to the Causeway but he showed us eveything we could try and fit into an afternoon trip. We felt quite lucky to be able to snag Michael on short notice as we were there at the bottom of the tourist season. If we are lucky enough to be ab;e to get back to that part of Ireland again in the future I wouldn't hesitate to book Michael for another tour.
