【kyoto Arashiyama】A footbath café and foot massage experience

After almost one week traveling across Japan with 7-8 hours of walking every day, I must say that we didn't hesitate to enter this lovely foot spa salon in Arashiyama when we saw "15 mins foot bath + 15 mins foot massage". The idea is to decontract your legs with hot, salter water with whatever flavour you like (tea, matcha, etc.) and then to get a short, in depth massage of the feet and lower part of the legs with hands and bamboo rolls. Some might find the service a bit pricey, but it was definitely something we needed: 30 mins break, relieving tension in the feet and legs, a good matcha tea... and then we were ready to walk again!

This was amazing and just what we needed on our trip to Japan. The match soak was so relaxing and the foot massage was heavenly. The hot stones were an added luxury. The staff were so accommodating and friendly - particularly Kana.

After several days of non stop walking we were determined to find a foot spa to massage our troubles away. Arashiyu turned out to be the perfect fit. We had our hotel call to get us an appt ( though they do take walk ins) . We arrived on time and were ushered to our seats to unwind and wait. While we waited we began with a hot water soak ( you can select your bath preference) The rest fell into place and before I knew it my eyes were closed, my head was back and the rest was pure heaven. The staff is lovely and caring. The place is small and simple. Try and be mindful when you enter and whisper. People are resting. Before we left we booked for another day the same week. Loved this spot!

This place was awesome! Very clean and courteous. After days of walking 8+ miles, this treat is so worth it. Your feet will thank you!

Staff was incredibly nice. The experience is well worth it. Foot bath, message and can’t forget about the tea and snacks.
