Teide road bike climb from PdC

Brilliant one to one guided tour. Alberto knows the routes really well , he was great company and obviously a very experienced cyclist. He picked me up from my hotel and took me to the bike shop to fit me with a suitable bike. If you want to climb the mountain I would highly recommend this company for their professional and friendly service . Excellent value for money

Excellent day out with Jasper from Ride Base. Had to take the longer route due to road closures on the Mountain but Jasper coached me up the brutal climb to Teide - all about 2500m of climbing and a PB for me in a single day. Words of encouragement, biscuits along the way and the odd ‘suck it up and pedal’ from Jasper who pushed me all the way to make sure I didn’t bail on the climb. The effort was rewarded by a fantastic views, 45 descent (max speed about 85kmph 🚴💨) and a cold beer next door to the shop. Decent bikes with generous gearing, very smooth roads particularly on the descent and courteous driver who are very patient. All in all a grand day and one to brag about with the cycle club back home.

Jesper is a great guide, really helpful & friendly. Recommend it as a challenge for all endurance athletes, not just for cyclists. Highlight of my holiday!

I was originally just going to hire the bike from Ride Base and tackle the Teide climb on my own. However I'm really glad I opted to choose the guided option! Jesper was professional, knowledgeable and super friendly. Which took all the guess work out of pacing the ride, and made it far more enjoyable. The bike itself was perfectly set up, and the guys were more than happy to swap over to my personal saddle I'd brought with me. I look forward to going back to Tenerife to tackle Masca and some of the MTB trails, and I'll definitely use Ride Base again!!
