Kein Besuch auf Naxos wäre komplett ohne einen Besuch der Kitron-Brennerei. Machen Sie einen Schritt zurück in die Vergangenheit, probieren Sie unsere traditionellen Süßigkeiten und Liköre und lernen Sie die Geheimnisse der Destillation kennen. Die Tour beginnt im Innenhof neben dem schönen Garten der Probona Distillery, wo Sie die Möglichkeit haben, lokale Zitrusprodukte und Liköre sowie eine Auswahl an Vorspeisen zu probieren. Eine Gelegenheit, verschiedene Zitrusfrüchte und traditionelles naxianisches Marzipan zu probieren, umhüllt von zarter, dunkler Schokolade, "Halvadopita" mit Zitronengeschmack und getrockneten Zitrusfrüchten. Naxian Ouzo, ein Muss für jeden Liebhaber aller griechischen Dinge, kann auch mit Oliven, Brotstangen, einer anderen Art von "Ntakos" und einer großen Auswahl unserer eigenen Fruchtkonserven genossen werden "Rakomelo" und Raki mit Zitronengeschmack werden auch mit naxianischen Feigen und Nüssen serviert. Sowohl die Tour als auch die Zitronenverkostung dauern 60 Minuten.

The Citron tasting experience was one of the highlights of my trip to Naxos. It was better than anticipated seeing the grove and learning about the Distillery. The tastings with food pairings were incredible, each delicious but most of all Sofia was SO much fun and her passion and love for her family business was lovely to be a part of! She made the day something to remember and cherish always!
This tour was fantastic! It was led by the founder's great-granddaughter, Sophia, who is lively and makes the tour fun. Generous samples of Raki and Kitron, distilled on-site, along with snack pairings. You'll see a kitron grove and take a walk through the distillery and have a chance to purchase products. The distillery itself is small, so most of the time is spent sampling and learning about kitron and the company history. It was a home run. Location is a *little* hard to find. You may want to take a cab in case you have a little too much to drink.
This is a must do on Naxos!!! We wanted to do something authentic and special to Naxos and this was absolutely it. We were greeted by Sofia who has the warmest outgoing energy. You get a full thorough tour of the distillery, the orchard, and the entire process to make the Kitron. I learned so much! Now for the fun, the tasting! They are more than generous with how many different things you get to taste, while carefully pairing each drink with a cheese, or local snack that pairs perfectly. We had sooo much fun and would go back any day!! Will recommend to anyone going to Naxos.
We went as a 3 with our 10 year old and Sofia was brilliant - if you have children she was brilliant in engaging them into the experience. The tour was very informative and light hearted and the food and pairing was excellent. I have done lots of tours of vineyards and port houses and this was right up there. Yamas!
Absolute must for Naxos visit
There is a good reason this tour is so highly reviewed - it is incredible. Sofia is a delight and I had so much fun - a definite highlight of my trip. There were only 3 of us on the tour so it felt very intimate. We got a little history of the place, shown the groves and the distillery, and I even got to bottle some citron. I did the wine and citron tour and there were so many drinks, and a lot of food - which I didn't expect. It was an absolute joy to spend time at Promponas distillery. We stayed for a long time after the tour and tasting was over, just to soak in the atmosphere and nibble on some treats - and we were bought more drinks! I went to the shop by the harbour later that evening to purchase some of the delicious drinks we sampled, and was given yet more drinks. Cannot recommend highly enough!
This experience was awesome. The family ran distillery was very hospitable and kind to share their history with us. We had experienced a tequila tour in Cabo a few years ago but this tour was unbelievable in comparison. I would recommend everyone to visit even if you do not drink.
Educational we didn’t know the difference between Citron and lemons. The farming and making was fascinating. The host was engaging and so much fun! I would go again!!
