Der Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands beherbergt 1700 Wildpflanzen, darunter 200 Sumpfpflanzen. Nicht nur Mitglieder der japanischen Königsfamilie, sondern auch Besucher berühmter Gärten aus Japan und dem Ausland wie dem Kew Garden in Großbritannien haben den Garten besucht. Die Gäste können Wildblumen der Saison und andere Lebewesen wie Insekten, Fische und Wildvögel kennenlernen, die im Garten leben. Nach dem Besuch des Gartens gehen wir zum Sengokuhara-Pampasgrasfeld. Die Gesamtzeit umfasst den Besuch des Gartens und den Spaziergang zum Pampasfeld.

Hakone Pampas Grass Field ist eines der verbleibenden Pampasgrasfelder in Japan. Die Japaner verwendeten Pampasgras, um das Haus zu decken und das Vieh zu füttern. Die Gäste haben einen herrlichen Blick auf Sengokuhara und die umliegenden Berge und im Herbst silberne Wellen aus Pampasgras. Die Gäste werden auch Wildvögel beobachten. Nach dem Besuch des Pampasfeldes machen wir eine kurze Busfahrt vom Pampasgrasfeld zum Hakone Visitor Center. Die Gesamtzeit beinhaltet die Busfahrt zum Besucherzentrum.

Das Hakone Visitor Center ist ein Muss für naturliebende Gäste aus dem Ausland, da Einführungsbroschüren und kurze Einführungsvideos in englischer Sprache verfügbar sind. Das Zentrum verfügt über ein Wegenetz rund um die Anlage. Nach dem Besuch des Zentrums wandern wir auf den Wegen, von denen einige uns zur Togendai-Station führen, wo die Tour endet. Beim Wandern auf den Wegen begegnen die Gäste wilden Pflanzen, Insekten, Wildvögeln und mit etwas Glück können wir wilde Säugetiere wie Hirsche und Wildschweine beobachten. Die Gesamtzeit beinhaltet den Weg zur Togendai-Station.

Even though it unfortunately rained on the day of our tour, we had a really lovely morning with Yoshi in Hakone. He told us a lot about the region and the natural surroundings and was always up for a joke. He was also very well prepared and gave each of us a small bag containing wet wipes, a mask, tissues, and a trash bag—that was very thoughtful. Thank you so much, Yoshi, for the wonderful experience.
Yoshi is a great tourguide with passion for Hakone and its flora/fauna. We had some great laughs too, genuinely a nice person. The weather was rather unfortunate with lots of rain and wind, but we still enjoyed it! After all our time here was limited and we wanted to use it properly, which we definitely did with this tour. Review of Nature Walk I’m glad to book Mr Yoshi as a guide to the Hakone Botanical Garden of Wetlands. It was a surprising find as I had not read or heard about it on most of ads. Pampas grass field, which is 10 min away gets more publicity. I’m glad to have a guide to explain the flora and geography of hakone. Otherwise I would walk around with no recognition what I’m seeing. Mr Yoshi is knowledgeable about the flora and guides in English. I learned about the Japanese maple, how to tell it is maple species, thistles, beauty berries, burnet, skunk cabbage, mountain chrysanthemums, and other small plants and flowers. Coming from the tropics, it’s a good intro to flora in this area. The walk has nice views. I wonder why not more tourists know this place. After a walk to the pampas field, we went to Hakone Visitor centre for a video before end of walk. The visitor has trails which if you have time you can explore more.
The guide was well informed of the plants, birds, and various creatures in the Hakone area. The guide was also willing to assist with instructions on how to get to the meeting point from the Tokyo area. I would recommend this tour.
This tour allowed me to get to know Hakone in a unique way. Yoshi takes you through nature to get to know the flora and fauna of the place. He is a very friendly person with a lot of knowledge of the area, he also supports you at all times giving you instructions on how to move around Hakone to get to the meeting place. No doubt if you come to Hakone you can not miss this tour.
