   The Karnak Temple

   Main temple of Amun Ra: built by the Pharaohs of the 13th Dynasty, it was so widened and embellished by the different dynasties that it includes a multitude of monuments of various styles. At the time of its splendour, the temple was reserved only for the clergy. The simple people saw the temple only as the high perimeter wall. Karnak Temple is also known for its huge hypostyle hall with its 134 monumental. The dimensions of this room could contain the entire Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

   Valley of the Kings

   it is from the New Kingdom that the pharaohs have their “eternal homes” dug in this desert place. The classic plan of a tomb is a long gallery, carved into the rock, with one or more chambers, ending with the burial chamber with the sarcophagus. The representations of the walls are almost exclusively religious in order to accompany the deceased to the Hereafter. Today, there are 65 burials, all looted through the centuries except the most famous, the Tomb of Tutankhamun. Possibility to visit 3 graves

   the architecture of this temple is unique in Egypt because it is largely carved into the rock and rises on three levels with terraces connected by central ramps. The only woman pharaoh to have marked history, this temple dedicated to the god Amun with chapels for the goddess Hathor and the god Anubis. On the death of Queen Pharaoh, her successor Thutmose III removed all images and the name of Hatshepsut and replaced them with his own.

   Colossi of Memnon

   The only remains of the temple of Amenophis III, these two statues, 17 m high, represent Pharaoh sitting in front of the entrance of the temple. Already in ancient times, monoliths were known far beyond Egyptian borders because of the song emitted by one of them at sunrise. After the visit of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus to Thebes (199 AD. J.C), he ordered the restoration of the colossus, which made him mute.
