Utah Beach

Pointe du Hoc
One of the riskiest maneuvers but also the most statistical was given to the 2nd Ranger Battalion under the orders of Col Rudder. The cliffs were not the best place for a troop disembarkation, however this was a must and you will discover it thanks to your guide.

We are 6 adults in our 70's, and chose a bucket-list private tour not knowing what to expect. We booked directly on the Gold Beach website and the experience was positive. Lucas met us promptly at our rented house each morning for 2 days of tours and a third day to Mont St, Michel. His out-going personality put us all at ease immediately and he soon felt like part of the group (by the end of the third day he even had a touch of southern accent)! Being from the area his knowledge and passion for the subject matter made the trip extremely interesting. He was very good at keeping us ahead of much of the crowd and showed us sights off the beaten path that we had never imagined. Every request was respected, and every question was answered (or if he did not know the answer he did not try to BS his way through it). His presentations at each stop were easy to follow and he was able to relate the facts about the Battle of Normandy to all of us even though we had different levels of education on the subject. If Lucas is indicative of all the guides at Gold Beach then why go anywhere else?
Our guide, Adrian was absolutely great!! The day tour was amazing! We wished we could’ve stayed another day. Adrian’s enthusiasm and knowledge of DDay was impressive. We really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot!

Kate was a wonderful guide- so knowledgeable about WWII history in the area! She knew facts and dates and places, but seasoned it with personal, true stories of people who lived in Normandy at that time. At one point she had us in tears. We enjoyed our day immensely and would highly recommend a guided day with Kate.
Amandine was amazing! So knowledgeable about the area, answered all our questions, was a safe driver. She even knew the area where our father/grandfather landed on Utah Beach. Can’t recommend this tour enough!
We had an excellent experience with Arthur, a truly top notch guide. We were picked us up at our hotel outside of town in a new very comfortable car. Arthur was very knowledgeable and engaging. He had wealth of interesting details about the battle of Normandy and Allied invasion. And we enjoyed interacting with him. He took us to great spots that weren’t crowded but had incredible views of the beaches. Definitely recommend GoldBeachCompany and Arthur!
