We booked a 3-day, 2-night Black and White Desert tour in July 2026 for our group of 5 (3 adults, 2 teenagers). When looking for a guide, Mohamed’s perfect 5-star rating almost seemed too good to be true. But after Mohamed shared around 20 references from previous French travelers, we reached out to a few—and every single one raved about him being a fantastic guide and an incredible cook. Now having experienced it ourselves, we couldn’t agree more! From start to finish, the logistics were flawless. Mohamed arranged our transfers from Cairo and onwards to Luxor, making our travel stress-free. He welcomed us into his home for our very first meal, which was the warmest way to start our adventure. We had two 4x4s for our group, and Mohamed, his brother Allah, and his friend Said took amazing care of us. They customized the itinerary on the fly based on what we loved most. Since July is the low season, we didn't see another soul for three days—it felt like a private, exclusive world. Every day brought a brand-new, jaw-dropping landscape—each more impressive than the last—along with breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. Mohamed and his team know the desert inside out and drive like absolute pros. We always felt safe, and Mohamed went out of his way to reassure our youngest when navigating the dunes. Sleeping under the stars, spotting desert foxes (fennecs), and eating incredible food (no meal was repeated twice!) made this unforgettable. Out of our entire two weeks in Egypt, this was easily our favorite memory, all thanks to these wonderful people. A few tips for future travelers: Customization: Don't hesitate to ask Mohamed for more than just the standard 3D2N package. He can tailor the entire trip to your liking (which we’ll definitely do when we return!). Language: If you aren't fluent in English or Arabic, don't worry—you will manage just fine! The awe that you feel when driving around the hundreds of natural sculptures compares to what you feel when standing below the Pyramids or walking around the Karnak Temple. Except that not even the Ancient Egyptians could dare to match the monument that nature built, in honor of its own beauty, for itself. Got lost in this timeless paradise, and let the starred night sky to absorb my thoughts. Was mind blown in a way that is very hard to convey through these words. You are in great hands.
