Partie 1 : Visite et promenade dans un olivier biologique traditionnel (disponible toute l'année) Parcourez les oliviers pérennes et profitez d'une promenade relaxante à travers un verger d'olives biologique traditionnel situé à seulement 10 minutes de Kalamata. Découvrez les différentes variétés d'oliviers sous toutes leurs formes et à tous les âges, et apprenez l'histoire longue de l'olivier. Partie 2 : Visite à un moulin d'huile d'olive certifié (disponible UNIQUEMENT le matin, fermé le dimanche) Ensuite, très près de l'olivier, vous visiterez un moulin à huile d'olive certifié, ouvert au public, où vous apprendrez tout sur le processus d'extraction, de l'olivier à la mise en bouteille. Partie 3 : Expérience de dégustation d'huile d'olive Après le moulin à huile d'olive, nous nous dirigerons vers le centre historique, dans l'une des plus anciennes boutiques d'huile d'olive de la ville. Notre expert professionnel certifié en huile d'olive vous révélera tout sur les variétés d'huile d'olive grecques, comme la Koroneiki, leurs arômes clés distinctifs, leurs goûts, leurs caractéristiques, leurs bienfaits pour la santé et comment les associer à votre plat préféré ! We had a wonderful experience touring the olive grove and learning about olive oil in Kalamata. Maria was an incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming guide who made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived, and her passion and expertise made the tasting and tour both enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommend this experience.
If you want to EXPERIENCE the culture of the Peloponnese do not miss out on the Mama’s flavors experience. Maria led our small group of 6 (my husband and I and 2 adult children with their partners) though a tour of an olive grove and mill followed by an olive oil tasting and capped off with a meal at a local restaurant that served a bountiful meal of all the special foods from the region our family was eager to try. If that wasn’t enough Maria continued to guide and advise us as we planned the following days we spent in the area. She is a part of a large network of local shop owners who can enhance your visit. Maria background as a librarian and love of her homeland; its people and culture are what make this experience so unique and special. We came away with an appreciation of all of it. Our relationship to Kalamata olives and the oil from its fruit is forever changed and the memory of our time and connection with Maria will live on. Our family unanimously agreed that our Mamas Flavors Tour was the highlight of our stay in Kalamata.
We were on a Viking Cruise with friends in December. At the last minute we decided while in Kalamata we wanted to do an olive grove tour and olive oil tasting. We booked with Maria (Mama's Flavours) the afternoon before our tour. Maria was FABULOUS! She picked the four of us up right near our ship. We had an amazing morning outside at the olive grove. It was just the 4 of us and Maria on the tour. Maria was so knowledgeable and passionate about the olive grove. Then we went to the olive coop where the olives were processed into olive oil. From there we went into town and had an olive oil tasting in the back of an olive oil shop. At the end we went next door to a bar that a friend of Maria's owned (this was not part of the tour) and had a very "locals" experience. She ended the day by giving us goody bags with local treats! I would highly recommend Maria and this tour. She was so kind, passionate, knowledgeable and fun!!! You will truly enjoy your time with her!

Maria, our guide and owner of the business, was exceptional. We do A LOT of these types of tours on our travels and she is by far the best one we have had! Not only is she knowledgeable about olives and olive oil and the milling process and the history of Greece and Kalamata, but she's PASSIONATE about those things and it shines through. She cares that you enjoy your experience and is passionate about her guests. Her husband, Giannis, was our taxi driver and she arranged our transportation with him. Everything was taken care of and Kelli, at the tasting shop, was super passionate and knowledgeable and sweet! We bought a few things at the shop as well. Time wasn't a factor. They spent as much time with you as you wanted! Maria also does other tours so before we leave Kalamata, we will have Maria give us one more tour! I can't say enough about her! Thank you Maria!!!
The entire experience was absolutely fantastic!! Not only is Maria passionate about sharing the Peloponnesian culture, she is also such a warm and genuine person on top of it! I enjoyed my half-day private tour with Maria; we had a lovely morning touring the olive grove, the olive oil refinery, and then had a beautiful and intimate olive oil tasting with a lovely couple in the town of Kalamata. This is a wonderful tour - I hope to come back and bring my family and also see Maria in Lefkada soon :)
I had the most amazing experience with Maria. She’s so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Greece, it was contagious! I felt myself loving Greece as much as she did. I learned much more than just how olive oil is made. We ended the tour with dinner and it felt like having dinner with my best friend. She’s so warm and friendly, and the food was amazing! I would highly recommended and I can’t wait to visit again!
This was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on and I’m tallking over 100. The guide Maria was informative and passionate about her subject as well as being delightful and upbeat. We spent time in the grove learning about Olive growing, then we went to a processing facility and ended up doing a tasting at a shop. I can’t imagine a more complete experience and we are now devotees of extra-virgin olive oil.! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who comes to Kalamata and is looking for an immersive experience since olive oil is really what this town is all about. Just be clear with Viator and the tour guide about transport to the venues.
