10h00 : arrivée au Domaine Beaumont, 2 rue de l'Église, 49400 Distré - une introduction et une visite des vignes - visite de la grotte troglodyte et de la cave à vin aux allures de cathédrale -'caveau de dégustation' pour une dégustation de vin immersive avec Gérald -'casse-croûte du vigneron' - sandwich de style pique-nique Après une initiation et une balade dans les vignes, Gérald vous Guide dans un voyage sensoriel unique à travers sa production de vin. Simply wonderful. I've been on wine tasting tours all around the world, and this was the best by far. A knowledgeable, fun, thought-provoking, instructive, and witty tutor. We simply could not recommend this highly enough.
We spent a wonderful day at the vineyard. We walked through the domains with Gerald telling us interesting facts about the vines and how wine was produced; interspersed with personal anecdotes and histories. We asked many questions, Gerald was very knowledgeable and answered them in an informative and amusing way. After our tour, we went down into the wine cave which was wonderfully cool. We tried 4 reds, 4 whites and a sparkling wine. It was interesting to hear different aspects and characteristics about each wine and it's background. There were twelve of us in the group and each of us had different favourites but all of the wines were delicious. After the tasting we enjoyed a light lunch with wine under the shade of trees in the garden. We had the opportunity to buy our favourite wines, but there was no pressure to do so. I personally bought eighteen bottles, the wine was so good. Our host was an amazing and charismatic raconteur. His wife, Sarah was a lovely hostess, greeting us warmly on arrival and looking after us over lunch. I would highly recommend this experience if you want an authentic and fun introduction to French wine.
We had a lovely day with Gerald and Sarah Jane learning about the vines, wine growing and wine tasting. We learnt to understand what we were tasting and the elements to look for of their delicious wines. We then had a lovely lunch of salads and local cheeses and meats in the garden of their beautiful home. A fun, fascinating day and one where we learnt so much about the wines we were tasting. We would highly recommend.
A fabulous visit to this lovely part of the Loire where our wonderful hosts treated us to an amazing tasting of some truly gorgeous wines - especially the bubbles! We were lucky enough to be there on a gloriously sunny day in March, and in addition to the wines, we enjoyed a lovely fresh baguette filled with casse-croute and cornichons, simply delicious 😋
Loire Valley Uncorked "Wine Tasting with the Wine Maker" was a personal tour and experience like none other and was the highlight of my time in the Loire Valley. Gérald is a passionate and articulate wine maker who offered a walk through the vineyard and education about wine that was so very different than other wine tastings. The property is stunning, Gérald and Sara-Jane's hospitality is warm and welcoming, and it was a delight to share their passion for a perfect afternoon. You can know a lot about wine or just a little - it doesn't matter. You will come away with a new understanding of the perspective of the winemaker and a new approach to tasting and appreciating wine. And the guest suites are stunning - I wish I had known about Domaine Beaumont when booking my lodging - this would have been the place to settle for a few days. Heaven!
Oh my word, we were treated like royalty and had the best day ever with Gerald & Sarah. From pick up to drop off everything was top notch. Learnt so much about wine and ate the most amazing food in wonderful surroundings! I wish it was on my door step!
Don’t look any further for a wine tasting experience. Gerald and Sarah-Jane are perfect hosts, the location is fantastic, and the food and wine are amazing. We had the best day. Do yourself a favour and book this experience.
