- Gobeklitepe Göbeklitepe, which means "belly hill", is the oldest known temple in human history, and the first religious center on earth. Approximately 20 temples have been discovered in the region, and so far, six temples have been unearthed. The level of soil at the location of the building shows that the building was buried by human hands, not naturally. Göbeklitepe was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018 and included in the World Heritage List. You can see at least 15 buildings and more than 200 obelisks, T-shaped columns, whose lengths between 3 and 6 meters, are thought to be stylized human figures. 3-dimensional lion relief. These figures strengthen the possibility that lions lived in Anatolia during the Neolithic period. The discovery of Göbeklitepe is an indication that settled life was passed through the temple, not agriculture. Before Göbeklitepe, all history books stated that the transition to settled life occurred with the emergence of farming and animal husbandry.

- BalIklIgol Experience the beauty of Abraham Pool and its cave through scenic views and nature walks. Balıklıgol, the Pool of Abraham is famous for its significance in Jewish and Islamic legends, where it is believed that Nimrod threw Abraham into a fire. The Cave of Abraham is a famous pilgrimage site in Urfa, believed to be the birthplace of Prophet Abraham. Devotees go there to pray and pay their respects to one of history's most revered prophets. The cruel King Nimrod ordered all newborn children to be killed upon learning of Abraham's coming birth, so he spent about ten years of his life in the cave as protection. A praying area has been constructed inside the cave, but the exact spot where Abraham was born is protected by a glass encasement. There are also faucets inside the cave where devotees can wash their hands with holy water. To enter the cave, you must go through the same courtyard as the Mevlid-I Halil Mosque.

- Karahantepe Orenyeri Karahan Tepe is an archaeological site in Şanlıurfa Province in Turkey. The site is close to Göbekli Tepe and archaeologists have also uncovered T-shaped stelae there. The excavations have uncovered 250 obelisks featuring animal figures. The site is located near Yağmurlu and roughly 46 kilometers east of Göbekli Tepe, which is often called its sister site. It is part of the Göbeklitepe Culture and Karahantepe Excavations project. The area is known as “Keçilitepe” by local people. It is part of a region of similar sites now being uncovered known as the Taş Tepeler.
- Sumatar (Sogmatar) The word Soğmatar comes from the word "Matar" in Arabic that means rain. It is believed that in the region, Prophet Moses escaped from Pharaoh, and engaged in farming here and that one of the well holes was opened by the miraculous scepter of Prophet Moses. In the centre of the town is a hill with remnants of a civilization that dates back to the 2nd century, during this time it was a pagan centre. The hill was an outside sanctuary, originally the seven temples, and each temple on a different hill; the Sun, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, and Mercury. More investigation revealed this was a grave monument and sacred area which is thought to be a representation of Mare-late, the Lord of Gods, with those praying to the centre of the hill similar to modern prayers towards Mecca. In Sogmatar, You will visit Pognon’s Cave, sacred hill, and Mars temple.
- Harran we will visit nearby Harran and see the incredible beehive houses. Harran- according to the Bible- was the site where prophet Abraham spent a few years with his family before moving on to Israel, the Promised Land. There are exceptional photo opportunities in this area.

I had an amazing experience on the 1-night, 2-day tour of Göbekli Tepe and Şanlıurfa, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better trip! Everything was very well organized from start to finish, and our tour guide, **Selim**, was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and made every stop much more interesting with the history and stories he shared. Gobekli Tepe and **Karahantepe** were definitely highlights of the trip. Seeing these incredible archaeological sites in person was unforgettable, and having Selim explain their history and significance made the experience even more special. We also explored Sanliurfa Old City and its beautiful traditional streets, visited the museum, and spent time at Balıklıgöl. I really loved getting to experience both the ancient history and the local atmosphere of Urfa”. Walking through the old streets and seeing the architecture and culture made the trip feel much more authentic. The transportation was excellent as well. The vehicle was very comfortable, and we always felt safe on the road. The driving was smooth and careful, which made traveling between all the different locations very relaxing. Everything was handled so well that we could simply sit back, enjoy the scenery, and focus on the experience. The hotel was another great part of the trip. It was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing after a full day of sightseeing. The entire itinerary was well planned without feeling rushed, and everything went smoothly. Overall, this was such a fun, comfortable, informative, and memorable trip. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Şanlıurfa and the surrounding archaeological sites. If you want to see Gobeklitepe and other ancient spots this is a must book. Selim takes care of everything and had a white glove approach. We initially were trying to figure out how to see the ruins on our own and it was overwhelming with how far it was and knowing where to stay. Selim arranges first class transport from your hotel in IST to the airport, arranges your flight, picks you up from the airport, shows you all the history some as old as 12000 years, takes care of your accommodations at the cutest hotel that use to be a church and has so much character, takes you around the second day before dropping you off at the airport. Your flight back to IST and transport to your hotel is pre arranged. Aside from the logistics being seamlessly arranged his timing was perfect. We got to see everything before the big tour buses came for the day and things got to busy. He knew the best photo spots and was so knowledgeable and pointed out details around all the spots in Sanliurfa that we never would have known or noticed on our own. He also took us to the best lunch spots with the most delicious flavors. This is worth every penny because you are taken care of the entire time.
Selim's a native of Urfa and he seems to know everyone there. He has connections with the archaeological teams excavating the local ancient sites, not to mention connections with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. These connections give him deep insider knowledge of what's going on at these sites that no one else can compete with. Selim has an impressive knowledge of the region and the broader Middle East generally. I'm a hard core history nerd and I was able to go deep with him and he was able to answer any question I threw at him. If you want the insider's tour of the neolithic and bronze age Fertile Crescent from the tour guide's tour guide, this is for you.
I was looking for a solo tour to the historical sites around Şanlıurfa and I am so glad I found Selim! He is very knowledgeable and also very passionate about the history and sites in the region. I feel like I got so much more out of every place we visited because I was there with Selim. He also took me to great places for food and helped me organise transfers for the rest of my trip in Mardin. I would highly recommend booking with him!
We met Selim at our hotel and it was the start of a beautiful friendship - he grew up in Sanliurfa and knows everyone, and took us to restaurants where locals eat fabulous food for very reasonable prices, rather than the tourist traps. We came to visit Gobekli Tepe and were not disappointed - Selim is very knowledgeable about all the archeological sites and took us to Gobeckli and Karahan Tepe on the first day and the next day we drove to the ancient site of Harran and visited the Museum in Sanliurfa which should not be missed - many of the artifacts from Gobeckli and Karahan are on display there. Altogether a great experience and we really enjoyed Sanliurfa - thank you Selim!
