Red & Rose Valley Sunset Hiking Tour with a Trekking Dog "Oscar"

We all (6 of us) had a fabulous time walking up through the red and rose valley in the evening with Penna Tours. Seeing the flora and geology, checking out the fairy chimneys and learning about who used them on the way. Our guide was easy going and very knowledgeable. Two of his friends came with us as well as Oscar the dog. We shared the track with some horse trekkers at times. We stopped for fresh orange juice on the way as well. We all made it comfortably and enjoyed the wine tasting at the top whilst we watched the sun set. A fitting end to a great day!

A must-do hike during your stay here in Göreme. Samil is a fantastic tour guide—he shares lots of information about the sites, is very easygoing and down to earth. Plus, he’s an excellent photographer! He brings his dog Oscar, who is the star of the hike and leads the way. Samil even got us the best orange juice at a café just before we watched an amazing sunset.

The views and scenery were great. Unfortunately the "english language tour" had a non english speaking guide. He tried and had to use google translate to answer questions. There are muddy sections so good shoes are a must.

The scenery is breathtaking and some amazing history which was brought to life and given great context by our guide Şamil. He was great in answering all of our questions and showing us some cool places, highly recommend Rose Valley Tour with Şamil! P.S. Oscar (pet dog) is a superstar and loves to pose for some great pics!

The valleys themselves are marvellous, and the sunset there is just speechless. The tour guide Samil is friendly and nice. He explains clearly and always makes sure everyone is okay during the trip. I was hesitating to join the tour. But now, i would say i have a good decision, especially when you have no experience in hiking on your own but want to have a taste of it. The route is short and easy and you start from late afternoon when the sun becomes mild. Every thing is perfect. I really enjoy it.
