Questo tour unico è di 20 miglia e su piste ciclabili per lo più prive di traffico. Se hai bisogno di una bici elettrica a un costo aggiuntivo di £ 20 a persona, ti preghiamo di richiederla al momento della prenotazione: Inizieremo su una pista ciclabile fino all'Union Canal passando per battelli, ponti originali del XIX secolo e vogatori in allenamento. Scendiamo su una rampa ciclabile che ci porta su The Water of Leith. Si tratta di una bellissima passerella/pista ciclabile che passa sotto acquedotti, orti, il ringiovanito Saughton Park con l'originale palco dell'orchestra. Passando per lo stadio nazionale di rugby scozzese - Murrayfield. Continuiamo verso Dean Village che è un sito Patrimonio dell'Umanità. Ammira il ponte di Thomas Telfer e l'originale sede del consiglio scolastico di Edimburgo. Leith è ormai all'orizzonte e ci fermeremo per rinfrescarci proprio accanto al famoso porto. Continuiamo ulteriormente in direzione della spiaggia di Portobello, dove vedrai Fife sull'estuario del Firth of Forth. Il nostro ultimo punto di riferimento è l'imponente percorso ferroviario "Innocent Tunnel" costruito nel 1860.

We went on the Edinburgh circular ride with our guide Gill and a small group. The route was extremely well-planned, traveling through an amazing diversity of landscapes around the city, including woodlands and meadows, different urban and suburban neighborhoods, along the 19th century canal, along a very scenic stream, and down the beachfront promenade. The route mostly followed off-road bike paths, always felt safe, and had only a modest amount of uphill climbing. We stopped frequently for Gill's interesting commentary about what we were riding through, and also stopped at the beach for food and coffee. Gill was constantly attentive and supportive to the whole group, and was always upbeat and engaging. We enjoyed every minute of this ride would happily do it again the next time we are in Edinburgh.
My husband and I (late 30s) really enjoyed our tour and guide, Joe. We both were pretty exhausted at the end though. You may want to choose the electric bike if you don’t regularly bike as there were a few portions that are a good uphill pump especially towards the end(neither of us have been on a bike in about 10yrs ). I ended up pushing my bike on foot a few times but was still able to keep up. Our guide inserted many brakes with informative historical notes and the pace was very manageable!
Judith led us on an enjoyable 20 mile ride around the city. Saw all the sights on our list. Ride was not overly ambitious, especially with E bikes. Judith was knowledgeable and charming. We had a small group and it was perfect. One of the best day bike rides we have been on. Highly recommend.

Fantastic and very professionally run circular tour of Edinburgh. Our guides were fun, knowledgeable and kept us very safe throughout the whole of the adventure. Bikes were also very good and well-maintained. We saw things that we would never have seen if we had just stayed in the city, including Dean river, Portobello beach, and the amazing countryside. The Wee Pedal group is also a part of, and gives back to, their local community. Very inspiring and very enjoyable.
My adult daughter and I took this circular tour - there were about 10 of us. Only a couple of folks opted for the electric bykes. The guides did a great job of keeping a good pace and keeping the group together. Most of the trip was on cycle trails - with a little bit on roads between those trails. Most was on the flat - there was a bit of a hill near the end - that I got off and walked for - the guides were cool with that. I was really impressed by how much of the ride was very pretty - the meadows, along the canal, Dean river, Portobello beach. I lived in Edinburgh for about 10 years (decades ago) - and this was a great way to get a sense of the whole city. Highly recommended trip!
The owner, Leanne, responded to my email about doing a private ride overnight, as I was emailing from the U. S. It was very easy to set everything up. Leanne and our guide, Jill, were all ready when we arrived. They went over how to operate the e-bikes and the safety measures. Jill is a wonderful guide and you will not be disappointed if you are lucky enough to have her lead your ride.
Great ride around Edinburgh, nice bikes, great history and perspective on current day life. Highly recommend!!
