Prior to your cruise, you can book your own vehicle to explore the island at your own pace. Our driver can wait for you at the port upon arriving, just outside your cruise ship to welcome you to the island.

Medieval City
We will start our tour with a drive around the walls of the Old Town of Rhodes - the biggest inhabited medieval town in Europe. It was built in 1300s from the knights of the order of St. John. The Medieval Town of Rhodes is inscribed in the World Heritage Sites List of UNESCO. If you want we can extend the duration of the tour with 1 hour and you can have also some free time to go through the Old town and explore it on your own.

Mandraki Harbour
Mandraki port is situated in the new part of the town where you will see some very impressive monumental buildings built by the Italians. Here at the harbour entrance is believed that once stood the great statue of the Colossus of Rhodes - one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. We will stop for pictures of the area.

The Church of the Annunciation
The Church of the Annunciation in Rhodes is the biggest Orthodox church in the town with very beautiful handmade paintings on the walls and spectacular chandeliers.

Village of Lindos
Little before we reach the beautiful traditional village of Lindos your driver will stop you at a place for a fantastic panoramic view of the village together with its Acropolis on the top. After that, we will leave you at the main entrance of the village. You will have at least 1 and a half hours to explore it and of course, visit its famous Acropolis. The driver will wait for you at the exact place he left you.

Acropolis of Lindos
The Acropolis in Lindos is the second most popular Acropolis in Greece after the Parthenon in Athens. It was built on a steep rock 116 meters height overlooking the Blue Sea and the village of Lindos below. The Acropolis is dominated by the massive temple of Athena Lindia, dating from the 4th century and it attained its final form in around 300 BC.

Agios Pavlos Beach
A stop at the picturesque St. Paul's Bay is also included. It is claimed that St Paul landed here in the year 51 AD to preach Christianity to the Rhodians. There is a small church built there after his name. We will make a stop for pictures to capture this stunning view.

If you’re looking for the absolute best tour guide in Rhodes, ask for Nikolas! Out of all the guides we had during our trip through Greece, he was hands down the most informative. His knowledge of Rhodes, its history, and the local culture was incredible, and he shared everything in a way that was engaging, fun, and easy to understand. What really made this tour special was that Nikolas took us to amazing local spots that most tourists never get to see. We avoided the crowds, experienced the authentic side of Rhodes, and never felt rushed. Every stop felt carefully chosen and made the day unforgettable. More than anything, Nikolas made us feel like we were spending the day with a friend instead of someone simply doing a job. He was easygoing, genuinely cared that we had the best experience possible, and went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and enjoying every minute. This was one of the highlights of our entire Greece vacation, and a huge part of that was because of Nikolas. We can’t recommend him highly enough. If you’re booking a tour in Rhodes, do yourself a favor and request Nikolas—you won’t regret it!

I always say that on cruise stops, it is much better to take a private (or small group) tour rather than one of the large coach tours offered by the cruise line. A private tour offers flexibility as well as a chance to talk to your guide, ask questions and get to know them a bit. And you will never be stuck on a bus waiting for those last two stragglers to finally show up. Don't worry about missing your "all-aboard" time. Your guide is a professional and will know that his reputation depends on getting you back to your ship on time. Our tour with Nicholas (or Nikos) from Rhodes Greece Tours is a good example. He met us at the port with a very comfortable van. Our first stop was at Mandraki Port, the ancient port that was once the site of the Colossus of Rhodes. Next up were St. Stephens Hill, Acropolis of Rhodes with its ancient stadium, followed by a drive to Lindos. Since Nikos was in a van, not a coach, he was able to drop us right there in town. Another advantage of a private tour is getting into places where a bus cannot fit. After this, he gave us a choice of places for lunch. As Nikos told us, he is a driver, not a guide, so he could not accompany us into the archaeological sites. But even still, to call him "only a driver" does him a disservice. He is a native-born and proud Rhodian, and he is very knowledgeable. He told us all about these places while we were on the road. But even still, as Nikos himself said, sometimes it also is nice simply to back and enjoy the scenery without a guide continuously droning on and on. If you are looking for a good tour of Rhodes from someone who truly knows and loves the island, then Nikos (Nicholas) from Rhodes Greece Tours is your man.
We had a great time on this tour. Our guide picked us up at our hotel and took us first to Rhodes, giving us a brief history of the sites. We drove to many different spots on the island, including a potter's studio but the best was Lindos.
This way was a great way to experience Rhodes. Our guide George was extremely insightful to the history of the island and the people. We were able to get away from the tourists and saw the heart of Rhodes. We were able to stop in several small, family businesses. With it being a private tour, it was very intimate and geared towards our requests. Without having a large bus, we were able to get at the base of the Lindos, without the long walk from the bus parking. And the lunch recommendation was amazing and become our favorite meals of our trip. We loved learning about the history, in a relaxed, setting as we saw the island. George was great, took pictures for us, spoke English very well, and a great driver. Highly recommend!!!
