   Hadrian's Gate

   We will stand before the magnificent Hadrian’s Gate (locally known as Üçkapılar, meaning "The Three Gates"), the grandest entrance to the historic Old Town. Built in 130 AD to honor the visit of the famous Roman Emperor Hadrian, this monumental triumphal arch is one of the best-preserved Roman structures in Turkey. Your guide will explain the intricate architectural details, including the three classic arches, the elegant marble columns, and the beautifully carved floral reliefs on the coffered ceilings.
