Going with this guide is like having the keys to the city; he knows exactly when and where to go for the best experience with uninterrupted views and dodging the crowds. We were so worried about scams and this tour and guide created the experience we had hoped for and more. Incredibly knowledgeable, always in good communication and easy going you get an education tour and vacation in one. Ramses kept us informed and safe and knows the city inside and out - you get an insider’s view from an archeologist and Egyptologist who also goes above and beyond to make sure our evenings were booked with special restaurant experiences. You’ll be picked up early to beat the crowds and we had no idea how lucky we were until we saw how busy both the pyramids and the GEM were as we were leaving each. My wife and I found both the pyramids and the GEM, to outlive our expectations on their own but having insightful commentary along the way, from someone whom is actually passionate about it, made it even better. We actually booked 3 days with Ramses as part of our family spring break. Giza Pyramids and GEM, Dahshur and Saqqara, and Cairo church/market tour/experience. Ramses was exceptional on all fronts… knowledgeable and well educated, engaging with our whole family, organized and punctual, and a great communicator. I would definitely recommend a private guide to get the full experience of Cairo and lessen the hectic nature of the city, and feedback from my kids was that they loved Ramses. My wife and I booked three tour days with Ramses: (1) Coptic and Islamic Cairo, (2) Gizeh Pyramids and the Sphynx, (3) Saqqara and Dahshur. Everything was amazing, and we would highly recommend booking with Ramses. Here is an overview of our experience: Ramses pays close attention to detail to ensure everything is well organized. He chooses the right times—often early—to avoid the crowds and create a unique experience when visiting the sites. On-site, Ramses guided us away from the crowds, highlighting the unique artifacts and stories that bring ancient Egypt to life. His knowledge and experience (he has a PhD in archaeology specializing in Ancient Egypt) are truly exceptional; we enjoyed being able to “nerd out” about the history and culture of the Ancient Egyptians with him. One of the most unique parts of our tours was going inside the pyramids. Guides are not allowed inside these sites, but Ramses provided all the explanations, and then we explored on our own while he waited for us. Going inside the narrow passages, especially in the Great Pyramid and the more challenging Step Pyramid, was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our day exploring Islamic and Coptic Cairo provided a different, unique view into the heart and heritage of the city; we highly recommend it if you have the time. Overall, Ramses always ensured that we were comfortable, safe, and satisfied, delivering us door-to-door to the main sites, handling our entrance tickets, and guiding us through Cairo and its nearby ancient sites.
