Great tour, very easy and convenient, excellent guide and comfortable bus.
We had an incredible experience on this tour! Yes, it is a long bus ride (4+ hours) but quite comfortable. Take a nap, read a book, catch up on work - there is great wi-fi and USB Type A power ports above each seat. And there are stops for food and the wash room. Once we reached Meteora, we met our guide Vangelis, who was absolutely wonderful. We broke into a smaller group, about 11 people, and boarded a luxury van. Vangelis took us to three amazing monasteries and told us the history of each, and answered all our questions. He also showed us the other monasteries from the exterior with an amazing view. It would be near to impossible to go to all of them in one day if you are traveling from Athens, FYI, because of the time, and it seems one monastery is closed almost each day. But the three we saw gave us an excellent overview. This is an incredible trip for anyone interested in art, religion, icons, the Greek Orthodox Church, or beautiful scenery and history. A UNESCO world heritage site not to be missed. Thank you from your new friends in New Orleans!

Nothing can beat the experience of being on a private tour with a local tour guide. Vangelis was the perfect person to pick us up at the local train station (we drove down from a Metsovo resort with our rental car), explain the history and magic of Meteora, and leave us with unforgettable memories. Before we took the tour, in his elegant MBZ he took us to both a coffee shop and a bakery to start our day with him. I had been to this sacred series of mountains in the past, but nothing prepared me for beimg there with my grown daughter, who treated me to this tour on my birthday. Because Vangelis could get us close to entrances to each monastery, we avoided the endless long walks up the roads leading to the sites. And at the end, he literally went the extra ile by taking us to a very special place where tour buses do not venture -- where hermit monk caves were carved into hillsides accessed by rickety ladders. When we returned home, he WhatsApped us a cache of historic photos of the manateries and monks, accessing their precious placed by ladder, basket, and cable cars. While this is not as inexpensive as a bus tour, it was by far the best touring experience we've ever had. Thank you, Vangelis!
The best choice I could have get. Especially that Vangelis, our Tour guy, did his best to make our journey perfect in all aspects.
Breathtaking. Fabulous. Outstanding. It is difficult to find the superlatives both for Meteora as a location to visit; and for the wonderful experience of VIP Meteora Tours. Giorgos was a wonderful guide explaining the history and anecdotes of the area and ensured we were well treated during the tour. I highly recommend the experience.
