- Shibuya Crossing Free time to explore the area and see the famous Shibuya Crossing.
- Senso-ji Temple Start your adventure off by visiting Asakusa to explore Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple built in 645 AD.
- The Old Tsukiji Market Visit Tsukiji Market, the most famous fish market in the world.
- Lake Kawaguchiko Travel to Lake Kawaguchi to view the magnificence of Mount Fuji. Stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan, soak in a mineral-rich hot spring onsen, and have an authentic Japanese Kaiseki dinner. This will be a very memorable experience!
- Matsumoto Castle Travel to Matsumoto and visit Matsumoto Castle, one of only five original castles in Japan and a National Treasure. See the nicely preserved shopping streets of the historic Nakamachi District.
- Zenko-ji Temple In the morning, visit Zenko-ji Temple, founded in the 7th century, and experience a Buddhist morning service.
- Kenrokuen Garden Travel to Kanazawa to see the restored Geisha entertainment district of Higashi Chaya, the Nagamachi Samurai district, Onomichi Market, and the Kenrokuen Garden, one of three most beautiful landscape gardens in Japan.
- Nakasendo Tsumagojuku Slip back to earlier time and enjoy the beautifully preserved post town of Tsumago in the Kiso Valley. The town used to serve travelers on the Nakasendo Trail, the route connecting Tokyo and Kyoto during the Edo Period.
- Kiyomizu-dera Temple Visit the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu Temple and walk the Higashiyama District with old wooden houses and small shops.
- Kinkakuji Temple Visit the beautiful World Heritage Site of Kinkaku-ji, known as the Golden Temple.
- Ryoan-ji Temple Visit the famous zen rock garden of Ryoanji.
- Tokyo National Museum Head back to Tokyo and visit the Tokyo National Museum, the oldest national museum in Japan with over 110,000 items including 87 Japanese National Treasures.
- Check out of the hotel and head to Narita Airport.

This trip was a great way to see a lot in a short time. I would not have been able to see even half of the things we were able to see if it was not for Shawn and Becki, who planned every detail. Many of our adventures were off the beaten path and away from the typical tourist sites. The trip flowed easily, and I enjoyed great hotels, great food, great company, and so many incredible adventures!
WOW-what an incredible experience. This was a bucket list trip for me and I did not want the tour bus tour. I wanted to experience the people and culture and this tour more than delivered, It truly felt we were traveling with a group of friends. It is evident the love & respect the locals have for Becki & Shawn. I was a little nervous going somewhere so foreign to what I know. But once there discovered Becki & Shawn had me totally prepared with their weekly emails and website. I thought Japan would de a one and done but I will definitely return one day- I already miss it!
We cannot say enough wonderful things about our recent small group tour organized by Japan and More (Becki and Shawn). From start to finish, this trip was absolutely amazing and we feel incredibly lucky to have had this experience. Becki and Shawn curated the perfect itinerary. The tour was focused on immersing us in local Japanese culture, offering unique, authentic experiences that we never could have found or organized on our own. Becki and Shawn seamlessly organized everything. Traveling in a small group felt relaxed and incredibly well-managed, allowing us to just focus on taking in every single moment. If you get the chance to travel with Japan and More take it! They are phenomenal hosts who deliver a world-class travel experience. Thank you both for a trip we will never forget!
My wife and I visited Japan with Becki and Shawn in the Fall of 2023 and had such a wonderful experience that when we decided it was time to come back, we instantly thought of them. They are both very down to earth and welcoming people and it was as though no time had passed at all between the end of our last visit and this new trip. Even as return visitors we found tremendous value in their experience, passion for the culture, and the attention to detail they provide. Not having to worry about the logistics of Japan’s various train systems, navigating complex train stations, or even dealing with hotel reservations yourself allows you to relax and fully engage with the experiences you have. We can’t recommend them enough and hope you give them the chance to win you over as they have with us.
It is the best experience I ever had. Alisa coordinated everything extremely well. The guide KENTO, was the best guide I have ever had. He was very knowledgeable, perfect English and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable.. he made the tour unforgettable!
This tour was above and beyond my expectations! From beginning to end, Shawn and Becki were the most excellent tour guides. It was impressive how well they navigated the vast rail system. They were very knowledgeable about every site we saw and the food they chose for us. It was fun to try so many different types of authenticate food. The hotels they chose were very comfortable. We packed so much into our 10 day tour and I am leaving with a great appreciation for the Japanese culture. I would highly recommend Japan and More if you want to truly experience Japan.
If you want an authentic Japan experience, then Japan and More is the best first class experience you will ever have. Becki and Shawn are extraordinary creating an experience in Japan that you will never forget. Everything was organized according to the schedule and implemented flawlessly.
We are leaving today after ten days of traveling and experiencing Japan at such a meaningful level that went far beyond sightseeing! Shawn and Becki’s kind attentiveness to not just each of us but also to every detail alleviated any stress and created a once in a lifetime trip. We would highly recommend getting on the waiting list!!!
