With 27 years of experience as a calligraphy instructor, I will provide you with easy-to-understand and detailed instruction.
We will talk about Japanese letters, explain how to use calligraphy tools, and teach you the basics of how to use a brush. Then, students choose one of the 16 kanji that are popular overseas, practice it, and write it on a Japanese board. Sign your name, place it in a special art frame, and your original work of art is complete. You can take it home, so please display it at home. At the end, enjoy green tea and Japanese sweets, and take a commemorative photo. It will be a wonderful memory for you.
The event will be held on the first floor of a hotel in Shinsaibashi, the center of Osaka. It's very convenient, just 1 minute walk from the subway station.

Japanese calligraphy is a traditional art that lasts over a thousand years. Also, it is a wonderful character art in which the mind appears. Why don’t you concentrate your mind and experience the Japanese calligraphy peacefully? Then you can take home your own original work which you have completed by yourself. Steps of Experience Course Step 1, the story of Japanese culture calligraphy Step 2, How to use calligraphy tools Step 3, Host shows demonstration by calligraphy brush usage Step 4, Guests would choose their favorite Kanji prepared from popular Kanji samples. Step 5, Guests start experience treating the calligraphy brush. Step 6, the guest have completed their own original art work at the end. (special board 242 × 273 mm) Step 7, To finish, setting on your art work into the display case as a hanging scroll of calligraphy. It is foldable and good for portable. Let’s enjoy appreciating your work and taking a photo while tasting Japanese green tea and Japanese sweets which we presents you to feel Japanese culture. Other things to note

Ryusho is an amazing teacher and very high caliber calligrapher. He made the experience so personalized and really took the time to explain each step while including green tea and sweets. Being able to take home our artwork is a big bonus. Highly recommend Ryusho and this experience!
This Japanese calligraphy experience was outstanding! Tanabe san was an excellent instructor who was incredibly patient and encouraging. He taught basic technique and guided our practice. At the end of the class, every member of my family had a work of art we will be proud to hang upon a wall at home. I highly recommend this experience.
I really enjoyed the experience of learning about Calligraphy as well as trying it out myself. Ryusho Tanabe was very good at helping me improve my skills with each stroke of the brush as well as keeping the atmosphere light and enjoyable.

Ryusho is so talented and such an amazing teacher! I booked this class for my husband and I to do while in Osaka because when I was in elementary school, my school brought in a Japanese calligraphy artist to teach in my art class :) My husband said this was his favorite activity of all that we did while on our 2.5 week honeymoon across Japan!!
