Do you have a sweet tooth? Or perhaps you've always wanted to try the traditional Japanese sweets (Wagashi) you've seen in anime and manga? Join our cooking class during your stay in Kyoto for a truly unique and authentic cultural experience! Our class is held in a beautiful, traditional Japanese house featuring stunning tatami rooms and a fantastic garden view. Here is what you can expect: Relax: Begin your experience by unwinding in a peaceful, traditional Japanese room. Learn & Create: You will hand-craft 3 different types of Wagashi (The menu changes according to the season)by yourself or with your partner. Our instructors will demonstrate each step clearly before you start. Taste & Enjoy: After cooking, sit down with fellow participants to enjoy your handmade sweets alongside a fresh cup of ceremonial Matcha tea, all while taking in the beautiful garden view. Our classes are conducted entirely in English by licensed guide-interpreters, ensuring that all participants—both English and non-English speakers—can easily follow along and enjoy. Please choose Seasonal Sweets class or Matcha Sweets class (suitable for adults) when you book. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Very nice and delicious sweet cooking experience with Miho. I really recommend
Miho san was a great guide! Apparently I was the only one that booked today so we spoke in Japanese (as I'm practicing my Japanese on this trip) and it was great! I had a lot of fun and enjoyed making the sweets and also seeing the techniques used to make them and the little nuances you don't really find on online recipes. The sweets were also so tasty, I could eat them every day and I'll keep loving them. I recommend this experience to anyone who likes japanese sweets and also to anyone who would like to learn how to make them.
Best mochi class. Our family had an amazing experience. The selection of mochi we made was incredible. Definitely a must do while in Kyoto.
This was a wonderful fun family activity! We were a bit late and our hostess was kind enough to still let us participate. She had us sit and relax with cold water after we have been running and stressed about making it!
We were running late and she took the whole family in to do the class. She didn’t rush even though we ran late getting to the class. The process was fun and easy. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a different favorite dessert.
My family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 6 and 11) had a wonderful time making Japanese desserts with Mihoko. She was so kind and patient with my kids as we made 3 summer desserts together! An absolute highlight of our time in Kyoto and highly recommend this fun, hands on and immersive experience! Thank you for our time together.
Very nice experience in the company of Miho, very welcoming. She gives us all her secrets to making Japanese desserts including the famous Mochi. Everything was very good, if you want to learn the secrets of the recipes of these pastries, I recommend that you book a course at Miho. Merci 😊
