Mariana was great, took me to a couple of places I hadn't been, got to try some little samples then went to the castle. She had great knowledge throughout and even gave me some.places to try after the tour
Our guide Mariana is a super star!! Even prior to the tour, Mariana went above and beyond with communications and coordinations, which we so greatly appreciated. During the tour, Mariana showed us many places we never would have known to visit, provided so much insight into the local life on Okinawa, and perfectly introduced us to the stunning culture and powerful history of the island. We strongly recommend this tour specifically with Mariana to anyone visiting beautiful Okinawa!
Our family, including 2 teens, really enjoyed our tour of Naha with Sara Eiko Albright. We particularly loved the tour of Shuri Castle and an intimate visit to a pottery studio with the artist himself. Sara was very kind, knowledgeable, interesting and gave us tons of helpful tips for the rest of our stay in Naha, as well as our next stop in Tokyo.

We really enjoyed our 4 hour long walks with Mariana. It was very educational and fun. We walked at a comfortable pace, stopping whenever we needed to. Mariana provided so many interesting information about the history, culture and lifestyle of people in Okinawa that now it feels like we should start visiting any place with this type of tour. Definitely recommended to anyone who would like to get to know more
Sarah was a wonderful guide and created an itinerary based on my interests in pottery. It included visiting a working kiln which was very interesting! A lovely tour!
We recommend this tailored 2 - 6 hours, for foodies, history or cultural buffs. Our guide Mariana (passionate Taika drummer) took us to interesting market, ceramic museum and delicious restaurant. Do try Goya Champuru (bitter melon stir-fry), Okinawa Soba (wheat noodles in pork broth), Rafute (braised pork belly), and Umibudo (sea grapes)..
Sara was an absolutely wonderful guide. Both her English and her Japanese were impeccable. She was knowledgeable about the castle, and friends with many of the staff leadership. She also took us thru the heart of the city, in ways an outsider would never find. From pottery to food, we saw the true gems of the city. And everywhere we went, the knew Sara. She really made the tour exceptional.
