Kusadasi
Zodra je je gids in de haven van Kusadasi hebt ontmoet, neem je de minibus die voor de haven op je wacht en ben je een half uur onderweg naar Efeze.

Ephesus Ancient City
Wanneer we in Efeze aankomen, beginnen we deze goed bewaard gebleven oude stad te verkennen. Het was een stad in het oude Griekenland aan de kust van Ionië, 3 kilometer (1,9 mijl) ten zuidwesten van het huidige Selçuk in de provincie Izmir, Turkije. Het werd gebouwd in de 10e eeuw voor Christus op de plaats van de voormalige hoofdstad van Arzawan door Attische en Ionische Griekse kolonisten. Tijdens het klassieke Griekse tijdperk was het een van de twaalf steden die lid waren van de Ionische Liga. De stad kwam in 129 voor Christus onder controle van de Romeinse Republiek.

The Temple of Artemis
De Tempel van Artemis of Artemision, ook bekend als de Tempel van Diana, was een Griekse tempel gewijd aan een oude, lokale vorm van de godin Artemis (geassocieerd met Diana, een Romeinse godin). Het bevond zich in Efeze. Het werd twee keer volledig herbouwd, een keer na een verwoestende overstroming en driehonderd jaar later na een daad van brandstichting, en in zijn uiteindelijke vorm was het een van de zeven wereldwonderen. Tegen 401 na Christus was het geruïneerd of vernietigd. Alleen fundamenten en fragmenten van de laatste tempel blijven op de site.

Denis was a great guide! We got lots of details about the area and the ancient areas we visited. He helped us stay on time and we even got in extra things there were not planned. Highly recommend this tour and Denis. Also, we had 2 children that are 7 years old, he was excellent with them!

Ephesus was amazing. There wasn't much to the Mary house but I'm not religious. The tour guide Selcuk was very knowledgeable and informative. He was also extremely kind and courteous. I would 100% recommend him. The van was clean, modern and comfortable (it even had fast charging USB ports). The lunch was traditional but very good. Only two things I wasn't thrilled about. The first was a visit to a rug store. I felt pressured to buy a rug but I wasn't forced. The second thing was the price of the Ephesus tickets. I admit I should have checked this myself, but it would have been nice if this was mentioned when I booked the tour -- it certainly wasn't the tour guide's fault who explained that it was a government decision. Anyway I had a great time and I wholeheartedly recommend this guide, this company, and this excursion.
Our tour of Ephesus was amazing and met all our expectations! Although our time was limited by our cruise ship’s timetable, the pick up at the port was seamless and we were never concerned about making it back to the ship on time. There is so much to see in Ephesus and this personalized tour maximized every moment. Our guide was fantastic - so knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend this tour!
We have a fantastic day Taner was so knowledgeable and a lovely person he also advised of best photos and took some of us together something we don’t really get when on holidays as 2, so happy we booked this way rather than through the cruise line I feel we got so much more out of our time, would 100% recommend booking this trip and with Taner.

They must wear tennis because the floor is slippery. The archaeological site is extremely interesting and I recommend getting to the site early.
