This truly unique experience will be the highlight of your trip to Thailand.
We start the day with a quick stop at the Khao Sok viewpoint to get a first glimpse of the breathtaking scenery. From here it is just a short drive to Mr. Yoo's jungle home.
Mr. Yoo & his family will help you collect your fresh ingredients and prepare a delicious Thai lunch using traditional methods.
Gently cruise down the beautiful Sok River on hand made traditional bamboo rafts. Bamboo rafts have been used in this are for hundreds of years to transport goods and people. Soon the river enters a beautiful gorge with spectacular limestone cliffs on either side.
After a while we arrive at a small sandbank by the side of the river where we can stop for a refreshing cup of jungle coffee, brewed in a bamboo kettle & a short walk through the cave to an ancient temple.

Wat je gaat doen
We beginnen met het ophalen van je hotel in Khao Sok, het is een korte rit naar het nationale park Khao Sok. Al snel komen we aan bij het uitkijkpunt Khao Sok, waar we stoppen om het adembenemende landschap te bewonderen. We springen weer in de minibus om meneer Yoo en zijn familie te bezoeken. Mr Yoo neemt je mee op een korte wandeling door zijn huis en laat je zien hoe je een reeks inheemse seizoensfruit, kruiden en groenten kunt verzamelen en oogsten. Zodra u al uw ingrediënten voor uw maaltijd hebt verzameld, is het tijd om te leren hoe u ze kunt bereiden en koken. Mr Yoo en zijn familie staan klaar om u te helpen bij het bereiden van een heerlijke traditionele Thaise lunch. Vervolgens komt het beste deel, het opeten! Na de lunch is het tijd om afscheid te nemen van de familie en naar de rivier te gaan. Wat is een betere manier om te ontspannen na een stevige lunch dan zachtjes de rivier af te drijven op een handgemaakt bamboevlot? Terwijl je over de Sok-rivier glijdt, is het landschap adembenemend. Elke bocht in de rivier onthult een ander geweldig uitzicht terwijl je langzaam de rivier afvaart, omringd door gigantische kalkstenen bergen. In dit gebied worden al eeuwenlang bamboevlotten gebruikt. De cruise wordt afgesloten met een snelle kop bamboekoffie en verken de grottempel.

Matt picked us up early, and we headed to Khao Sok for a memorable day. Our cooking class was enhanced by picking and using produce from the garden. The bamboo rafting was also fun - even if we ended up soaked from rain. The view was magestic.
Very informative, very funny and fantastic tasting food, highly recommended! We went through the garden, tasting and smelling different herbs, peppers, fruits, and preparing the coconut milk, chopping garlic and making curry paste, then cooking on charcoal, yummie!
Amazing day, our guide was very informative and had a great sense of humour 🙂 We started the day with your of a family farm in Khao Sok National Forest. We were shown and gathered different fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices. We used the items to make our lunch in the traditional Thai way. The family was eager to share their farm and cooking class with us. After lunch we stopped for a short stroll to see a temple and walk through some caves. We then headed to Sok River climbed in a homemade bamboo raft and we take down the quiet and peaceful river.
Fantastic day! Relaxed, fun, informative and great food. Fabulous hosts at the home stay. One of my holiday highlights- I fully recommend this opportunity to do something different away from the crowds. Superb! 6 stars!!
I highly recommend apple from the tour company for this trip. She is knowledgeable, friendly and so professional. Stopped and bought us coffee as an extra as well as a coconut desert. Cooking class was amazing (aside from an idiot staying at the farmstay telling me he just had eaten monkey which did not go down well with me and he was just a righteous little sh*t saying it to get a rise) and the food was phenomonal. 3 veg dishes and a churchmen red curry. Finished with a bamboo raft journey that was lovely - we saw monkeys and lizards and fed river fish. 10/10 for this group!
