Calanais Standing Stones & Visitor Centre
We gaan naar Callanish Stone Circle, een buitengewone kruisvormige zetting van stenen die meer dan 5000 jaar geleden werd opgericht! Toegang tot het bezoekerscentrum is £15pp, als alternatief is een fotostop aan de rand mogelijk voor degenen die het centrum niet willen bezoeken.

Carloway Broch

Butt of Lewis Lighthouse

Lews Castle

Luke is a wonderful guide. Not only is he so knowledgeable of the history of Stornoway, he wants you to engage with him and will do and go anywhere to make your experience the very best he can.
We started our tour at 9am with Luke. He was on time and very informative. He took us all over the island and showed us everything listed in the tour plus a few unlisted locations, that were not crowded with tourist. Luke took pictures for us and was very friendly. I would highly recommend this tour. I would definitely do it again if in the area.
We had a wonderful day exploring the Isle of Lewis with Donald and would highly recommend this private tour. Donald was a fantastic guide: knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about the island and its history. His local expertise made a huge difference throughout the day. We were able to adjust the itinerary on the fly depending on where the crowds were—and were not—and Donald always knew the best alternative stops, routes, and viewpoints. This flexibility allowed us to make the most of our limited time in Stornowayand the region and enjoy a much more relaxed and personal experience. Donald shared fascinating stories and insights about the island, its history, culture, and landscapes, while also giving us plenty of time to explore, take photographs, and enjoy each location. He was excellent company, and the entire day felt comfortable, natural, and never rushed. This was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our cruise. Thank you, Donald, for such a memorable and enjoyable day. We genuinely hope our paths cross again!
My family had a wonderful time on our tour! Luke was knowledgeable and friendly. It was so interesting to hear about the history of Lewis as well as about the reality of modern life on the island. This was the highlight of our mother/daughters week in Scotland! Luke was an incredible tour guide and brought us to see so many different areas of the Isle of Lewis. Some that we didn't even know we needed to see. He was fun, safe, flexible, and extremely knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend this experience to all and it is definitely worth the price. We loved spending the day with Luke, he was awesome. Luke’s knowledge of the area, his stories and experiences added greatly to the tour! We did not feel rushed and he made sure we got to do and see all the places we wanted to see. We feel like we really experienced both Lewis and Harris and the vast differences between them. Luke was the perfect guide for our multi-generational family five. He met us early for our meet-up time, was professionally dressed and the vehicle was clean and stocked with water and a variety of treats. A true historian at heart, Luke brought the past to life as we explored the Calanais Standing Stones, sharing fascinating stories and insights that made the ancient site even more meaningful. We continued on to the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, where Luke described the challenging lives of those who once called it home. Unfortunately, we had an unexpected encounter with the infamous Scottish midges—but Luke handled it with humor and professionalism, swiftly whisking us away to a beautiful beach where we could enjoy more of the island’s history and stunning countryside views. It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and breathtaking scenery. Luke’s knowledge, charm, and thoughtful attention to our comfort made the experience unforgettable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!
