O popular Orangutan Trek da EcoTravel no Parque Nacional Gunung Leuser é um passeio inesquecível e autêntico para conhecer a verdadeira floresta tropical de Sumatra. Recomendamos esta caminhada de 2 dias para viajantes esportivos que desejam caminhar na fantástica natureza tropical e vivenciar a vida noturna da selva. Esta jornada de aventura de 2 dias começa em nosso escritório EcoTravel às 8h30. Durante esta caminhada na selva, você caminhará em um pequeno grupo de no máximo 8 convidados do EcoTravel, tendo uma grande chance de ver animais selvagens em seu habitat natural - especialmente os últimos orangotangos de Sumatra. Por volta das 15h00 chegará ao nosso parque de campismo junto à margem do rio onde pernoitará. Na manhã seguinte, você terá a oportunidade de visitar uma bela cachoeira antes de um “táxi da selva” levá-lo de volta a Bukit Lawang através do tradicional rafting pelo rio Bohorok. Retorno a Bukit Lawang às 14h30. Fornecemos barracas duplas, colchões, travesseiros e sacos de dormir para uma confortável pernoite na selva. Com um filtro de água inovador aumentamos a saúde e o bem-estar dos nossos hóspedes. E nossas deliciosas refeições preparadas na hora são complementos memoráveis para aumentar sua energia para caminhar na natureza.

- O que levar: calçados confortáveis para caminhadas ou bons esportes, mochila de 25 a 30 litros, calça comprida e camiseta de cores vivas, meias longas, uma muda de roupa, blusa de mangas compridas, chinelos ou sandálias, toalha, lanterna, mosquito repelente, loção solar, roupa de banho e papel higiênico. Se você tiver alguma dúvida, não hesite em nos contactar.

Esses animais vivem em estado selvagem e é difícil determinar onde eles estarão a qualquer momento do dia. Mas todos os guias do EcoTravel têm muitos anos de experiência e nossa equipe tem uma reputação muito boa em Bukit Lawang. Não contratamos guias externos adicionais devido a razões de segurança para nossos hóspedes. We had an amazing time on the 2-day/1-night jungle trek, and it will be remembered as one of the best trips of my life. A very special shout out to Pipito and One One for making our experience so wonderful. The process of securing the tour was straight forward and it was easy to communicate with EcoTravel. Our transportation was at the airport as soon as we landed in Medan and we got to the lodge within 3-4 hours. The trek itself was so much fun. Pipito shared so much information about the animals and plants we saw, as well as about the history of Bukit Lawang and the jungle. Our guides ensured we were well fed, hydrated, and safe throughout the hike. Our jungle camping was unique and fun after such a long day. And of course, it was a special highlight to do the jungle taxi back to the lodge the next day. I recommend booking this trek to anyone even remotely interested in it - just make sure you’re prepared to HIKE. I would 100% relive this experience if I could.

Our family of 6 joined a jungle trekking tour and were absolutely thrilled. From the very beginning everything was perfectly organized, well prepared, clearly coordinated, and punctual. Our guides Mahendra, Wanwan, Awi, Anton were fantastic, warm-hearted, attentive, and always looking out for everyone (specially ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ who needed some help while walking,-). They all took excellent care of us (our son injured his foot, they treated him and took care of him with so much care), guided us safely with lots of information on animals and vegetation. They created an unforgettable time in the jungle through their positive and family like spirit. The delicious food (thanks Herman, Ari, Agus), the campsite by the river and the whole experience in the jungle were breathtaking. We saw orangutans, different species of monkeys, elephants despite some heavy rain. It was an unforgettable experience with amazing people, perfect organization, delicious food, and indescribable moments in nature. We highly recommend this tour. A big thank you to the whole team – Mahendra, Wanwan, Awi, Anton – for making this adventure so special to us (promise Wanwan, next time we’ll bring some belgian chocolates with us,-))
A unique experience for me and my family. Guides Beng Beng and One One were very kind and helpful. Though I had a handicap with asthma on exercise they took care of me. Fantastic food even in the camp! Great atmosphere!
We had an absolutely amazing experience with EcoTravel and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Sumatra. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially our jungle guide Pipito, who made us feel safe and well looked after throughout the trip. We were lucky enough to see several orangutans, and all the guides were fantastic at spotting wildlife and helping us find the best viewpoints. Camping in the jungle was much more comfortable than we expected, the surroundings were beautiful, and the food was excellent. We also loved washing the elephants and joining the local village tour, where we learned about everyday life, local culture, and traditional food production. The staff at the hotel were always helpful and greeted us with big smiles. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Indonesia!
Me and my mum did the overnight jungle trekking tour in may 2026. We could not wish for a better trip! Everything went perfectly smooth from the beginning. Our group consisted of 7 people plus our two amazing guides Hendra and Chippy. We spotted the first Orang Utan as well as Thomas leaf monkeys before even entering the national park. Throughout the hike we saw many kinds of animals such as hornbills, turtles and different kinds of monkeys. The campsite was arranged nicely next to the river and we felt comfortable from the second we stepped out of the jungle. I can't find words to describe the wonderful and tasty dinner we got at the campsite. One of the many highlights was the Rafting back to Bukit Lawang the next day. Thank everyone for making our journey an unforgettable experience and I hope we will see us again (:
The 2d1n Orangutang trek with Ecotravel was truly amazing. The guides were great with good English proficiency. The food brought and cooked on the trip was fresh and the guides made sure there was no waste left behind. They ensured we were able to spot some (semi-)wild orangutangs in a sustainable and eco-friendly way, and gave us a lot of useful information. The campsite was also comfortable for an overnight stay. Would definitely recommend booking a trek with Ecotravel when visiting Bukit Lawang in Sumatra!
Wow what an incredible experience we had on our 2 day 1 night Jungle Trek. We were with a group of 8 of various ages, we are in our 50’s and reasonably fit. The trekking itself is challenging, the heat and humidity was so intense. You really do need to make sure you hydrate and prepare to sweat like you have never sweated before! Bring and use Hydra lites as well as water. Trekking to camp took around 9 hours we saw many wild and semi wild Orangutans, Gibbons, Monkeys along the way. Camping in tents were hot and very basic, camp food was delicious and the guides are so kind, friendly and helpful. A very special thanks to our amazing guide Wan Wan who really helped us get through the last part of the trek when the heat and humidity got the best of us. Wan Wan was patient, caring and so knowledgable about the trek, how to navigate the terrain and kept us safe! We would highly recommend Eco Travel for all your tours in North Sumatra. Great communication, very professional and well run business who genuinely care about their visitors and ensuring that ethical and eco friendly practices are maintained.
