Sail Turkey: Gulet cruise Fethiye to Olympos

Excellent trip! The boat was comfortable with a private bathroom and enough space to unpack. There was ample time at each destination to explore and plenty of time to enjoy the water. The crew was very experienced and made every effort to make it an enjoyable trip, even supplying a cake for my Dad’s birthday.

John took amazing care of us, the food during the trip was fantastic, and the boat facilities were good for the price. Sleeping on the deck was a cool experience, seeing the complete night sky. Good experience

Overall, I had a very good experience, and I would especially like to mention how wonderful and friendly the crew was throughout the trip. The meals were good, and the chef was genuinely skilled, particularly with the dinners, which offered the greatest variety and, in my opinion, the most delicious dishes. One small suggestion would be to add something such as granola with yogurt to breakfast, which would make an already good breakfast even better. The route itself was beautiful, with stunning blue waters and lovely bays. I do, however, have one observation regarding the itinerary. A few of the stops mentioned in the trip description were not included, even though the weather conditions were excellent. In particular, we did not stop at St. Nicholas Island and only passed in front of it. There was also no stop at one of the castles mentioned in the description. I did not ask about the reason at the time, and perhaps this was a decision suggested by some of the passengers. Nevertheless, when an activity or stop is part of the advertised itinerary, I believe that any significant change would ideally be discussed with all passengers beforehand and made with their agreement. For example, I had specifically brought hiking shoes for these locations, which took up a considerable amount of space in my luggage. That said, the overall route was still very enjoyable and beautiful. A small practical tip for future passengers For most of the trip, the atmosphere is very relaxed, and it generally feels safe to leave personal belongings around the boat. However, on the last day, particularly during the final few hours before the trip ends, things become much busier as everyone starts collecting and packing their belongings. This can increase the possibility of someone accidentally taking an item belonging to another passenger, such as earphones, a charging cable, or something similar. I personally experienced two small issues during the final four hours of the trip. First, I could not find my swim shorts, which had been hanging on one of the lines to dry. After searching for them, one of the crew members suggested that I check the lounge next to the kitchen, where I eventually found them among the boat’s towels. Normally, when an item is removed from the drying line by a crew member, it is placed visibly on the table next to the kitchen. Since there were only one or two hours left before the end of the trip, I think it would have been helpful to try to identify the owner and return the item directly, simply to avoid the possibility of it being forgotten or causing unnecessary searching. The second issue concerned my phone charging cable. I found that the cable had been removed from my phone while it was charging on the charging table, while the phone itself had been left there. I asked one of the crew members if they could look for the cable or perhaps ask the other passengers, as it may simply have been taken by mistake. I also mentioned that the person who had taken it might have left their own cable behind and therefore might not be able to use it with their phone. I raised the issue once or twice, but unfortunately I did not receive much assistance, and I am not sure whether the other passengers were actually asked about it. I was a little disappointed by the way this particular issue was handled at the time. As a result, I decided not to leave a tip for the crew, although I had originally set aside a tip for them. I would like to stress, however, that this was related only to the handling of this particular situation, and my overall impression of the crew remains positive. For future passengers choosing between routes For anyone who is undecided between the Olympos–Fethiye route and the Fethiye–Bodrum route, I would personally suggest taking a look at the Fethiye–Bodrum option. I have visited that area before, and I found it more varied in terms of the number and character of the bays, as well as the beautiful turquoise waters. Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip, and I am grateful to the crew for their hospitality and the good experience.
