Sandra knows everything about Hitchcock. It was a very nice tour. We walked around and she showed me the intersting spots of famous Hitchcock movies.
I booked the Hitchcock London Walk at the recommendation of a colleague. I am an infrequent walking-tour-taker, and I did not have a lot of extra time during a recent trip to London. However, a lifelong love for Hitchcock, fueled by repetitive viewings and voracious readings of anything that analyzes the man, his motivations, and potential manias, made this tour so conceptually appealing that I had to give it a go. What an afternoon! Ms Shevey provided many expected photo-op stops along the path, but it was her deeply informed narrative that painted a fascinating portrait of Hitchcock spanning his peak era to downturn in critical and popular acclaim. Fun and fascinating anecdotes peppered the multi-hour walk. I highly recommend this tour, both for the Hitchcock sights and for the opportunity to meet and discourse with Ms Shevey. She is a treasure of a journalist, author, and film historian, a rare bird in a forest of tweets and twitters. If you love Hitchcock, book this tour... if you love and appreciate classic films and cinema history, book this tour faster!
I had a really great time learning about the life of Alfred Hitchcock and the golden age of Hollywood. Sandra's wealth of knowledge on the topic is unmatched and I found myself taking loads of notes, at 3 hours long the tour is great value for money and hearing excerpts of her interview with Hitchcock in the pub from Frenzy was magical.
Sandra has a wealth of experience and deep knowledge about Hitchcock and movies in general. It was fun to explore London exchanging insights and anecdotes. All the best to you, Sandra.
Had a great time learning more about Alfred Hitchcock and his films with Sandra - while touring sites that involved Hitchcock's life and some shoot locations. Her hands on past experience interviewing and interacting with many other legendary directors and actors gave her unique insight and cool stories to share. We had some fun chats about his films, inside stories, and her perspectives. I also got a chance to grab a pint at the end of tour to hear her own interview with Hitchcock on a recording.
Sandra was quite knowledgeable about everything Hitchcock. The whole family enjoyed her stories even my teenage son. I highly recommend this tour and Sandra!
Sandra has a wealth of knowledge about both Hitchcock and the movie industry. The tour covers some of the filiming locations in Frenzy and The Man Who Knew Too Much and areas where Hitchcock lived and worked. Most of the people in our group had not seen these two movies, but they still really enjoyed the tour. The tour made them want to rent both movies. I especially liked seeing Hitchcock's home in the 1930s and the Brompton Oratory, the church where he was married. The tour certainly took me to areas that I would not have seen on my own. Sandra is very entertaining, and we enjoyed talking to her as much as seeing the actual Hitchcock locations. I highly recommend the tour.
Sandra was wonderful! It was amazing to meet someone who had actually interviewed Hitchcock. It was really cool to hear some of the audio from that interview as well. I really enjoyed going to the church where Hitchcock got married. Sandra is a wealth of knowledge about Hitchcock, so it’s a great tour if you’re a fan of his. It definitely helps to see the films Frenzy & The Man Who Knew Too Much before you do the tour! The locations will make a lot more sense. It’s still great even if you haven’t seen those films though. You’ll need a day pass or Oyster card because we took the train and bus a couple times to get to all the locations. I don’t think it cost more than £10 for the public transport portion.
