Bodrum Castle

St Peters Castle, som ligger i hamnen med fem imponerande torn och sju portar. Slottet är hem för Bodrums museum för undervattensarkeologi och du kommer att besöka dess många fascinerande utställningar inklusive fängelsehålan, hemligt museum i Snake Tower, tyska, engelska och franska torn och en hall med antika mynt och smycken.

Windmills
Efter mausoleet besöker vi väderkvarnarna nära Bodrums hamn. Väderkvarnar gjorda av sten och kantade med träplankor, och användes från 1700-talet fram till 70-talet av lokalbefolkningen. De håller på att renoveras som en turistattraktion på kullen och vår guide kommer att stanna för att ta bilder.

Sellcherk was an excellent guide. We had a great day seeing all the sites of Bodrum. Highly recommended.
The day started out great with an on-time pickup and tons of information about the history of the area. We got started early, so we got to many of the sites before the crowds arrived, which was nice, despite the driver getting lost trying to go to every site (the guide said he was new). The village was lovely, the lunch was an excellent way to try many local dishes cooked by a woman who took a lot of pride in her food. We also greatly enjoyed the rug-making demonstration, which gave us an appreciation for the effort and attention to detail paid for each rug. On the way back, we asked if we could try Turkish coffee and the guide agreed, said he would place an order, and we could go pick it up. However, he ended up taking us to an underground jewelry store, where we did indeed get a cup of coffee, but also got trapped in a sales pitch by a man trying to sell us Zultanite jewelry. This was followed by a gift shop on the way out selling knock off handbags and rugs, where the worker said our van would take 10 minutes to arrive despite being parked in the same parking space the entire time we were inside. The whole thing seemed very shady and we did not appreciate being funneled through this scam of an operation under the guise of getting a cup of coffee. Up to that point, the tour was great.
The tour was excellent! We hit all the major stops, got to learn a lot about the history of the area, and stopped in a local village for a delicious lunch. Our guide, Ferudun, was a wealth of information and interesting facts and we had a great day with him. Highly recommend!
My wife and I booked a 33-day adventure through Türkiye. As part of our tour, we booked the “Private Bodrum Shore Excursion.” This was a private trip arranged by Smart Türkiye Tours and guided by Selçuk Kaya. Given the overall duration of our trip, we worked with Selçuk to tailor this segment to focus on our interests. Bodrum is a bustling city on the southwest coast of Türkiye. The marina and castle areas are very lively with many shops, restaurants and bars. The Bodrum Castle and Underwater Archeological Museum were fascinating. The castle is well preserved and presents its history with thoughtful displays. Overall, it was a marvelous trip made even better by the attention and guidance of Selçuk. He is a great person and guide. He was with us for the entire 33-day journey. Selçuk was very helpful regarding all travel necessities providing recommendations for restaurants, local dishes, and options for coffee and tea. He helped with ATMs, mailing postcards, and even identifying laundry locations. We highly recommend Selçuk!
We had a fantastic day in Bodrum thanks to this very well-organized private tour. From the beginning, everything felt professional and smooth.
