Learn interesting facts about the development of pyramid building. Study all the building techniques Egyptian builders may have used in building the pyramids, the relationship between the pyramids' location and the astronomical constellation, enigmatic secrets of the pyramids, and more.
Around 9 a.m. we will pick you up from the hotel in Cairo and drive to Saqqara to visit the step pyramid, the oldest stone structure in human history.
Then we drive on to Dahshur and get an answer to the question of why King Snefru had a bent pyramid built and why his master builder was commissioned to build the very first real pyramid in the immediate vicinity.
After that we have our lunch
Now comes the culmination of the day; we visit the world famous pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mekerinios.

Saqqara Pyramid
stegpyramiden, Arkitekten Imhotep skapade åt sin härskare från omkring 2650 f.Kr. en grav i form av en trappa till himlen. Idag är byggnaden 62,5 meter hög och är den enda av pyramiderna som inte har en kvadratisk planlösning. Termen stegpyramid syftar på en pyramidliknande byggnad med en stegvis kubatur. Djosers Sufen-pyramid var det första försöket att bygga en pyramid

Pyramids of Dahshour
Knick-pyramiden byggdes på kung Snefrus tid och detta var det andra försöket att bygga en riktig pyramid. Som den tredje högsta pyramiden i Egypten är Snofru-pyramiden en av de mest imponerande egyptiska sevärdheterna idag. Eftersom pyramiderna i Dahshur låg i ett militärt begränsat område under lång tid och öppnades för allmänheten först i mitten av 1990-talet, är de fortfarande relativt okända och fortfarande ett insidertips bland egyptiska sevärdheter.

The tour was great. The two drivers were very friendly and drove top-notch. The tour guide was especially good. We had three children with us, and she was super accommodating to us and the kids, with very in-depth knowledge. So, a clear recommendation.
We did the tour to the pyramids Giza, Saqqara, Dashur, Memphis from Cairo, we had booked a private tour exclusively for us. It was 2 amazing days, all perfectly organized, we always felt very safe and secure our guide, Mr Rafik was very much caring for us and our well-being, he was always respectful and had even cared for our vegetarian lunch. Much more important- he is super knowledgeable and shared many background information about historical details and latest scientific results. As well during the driving he explained much about country, culture and people. We have learnt a lot and asides that we have had great time and really enjoyed. We can only recommend this tour and the organization behind it.
I had such a great experience with Osman, and his team Malek, Atef, Rafat and all the other drivers. Osman and his team facilitated my entire trip from Hurghada to Marsa Alam, Aswan, Luxor, Cairo and many more stops in between. They took care of all the organisation and that I will have an unforgettable experience. “A-MA-ZING” - this is the word to best describe our 2 private tours booked with Memnon Reisen. The first one was a private tour to Luxor and it was the best choice we could have done. Our driver, Ali, was on time, with excellent driving skills and fun. Harby, our guide, was amazing. He shared with us a lot of interesting details on the sites we saw, he was very professional and extremely patient and knowledgeable. Most importantly, we were always against the waves of tourists which is extremely important. Visiting the tombs alone and not crowded by groups of people means a lot. Last but not least, Magued did an awesome job in organizing everything for us. Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience! It was a trip we won’t forget for a long, long time. The second trip we booked was a private boat trip to Paradise Island, the key word being PARADISE. Oh wow, everything was perfect. The boat looked great, the food was one of the best we had in Egypt, super fresh and tasty. Compliments to the chef!!! And a big thank you to the captain for taking us to some coral reefs that were absolutely beautiful. Again the team managed to avoid the tourist crowds and we were able to stay on the beach in peace, enjoy the unbelievable turqoise waters, take lots of pictures and swim & enjoy snorkeling through the reefs without bumping into other people. We were also celebrating a birthday, so the team from Memnon surprised us with cake and wine which turned the day into a perfect one!!! Thank you very much for everything.
