Gavalas Winery
Gavalas familjevingård, en av Santorinis äldsta vingårdar, ligger i den traditionella byn Megalochori. Syftet med vår familj är att belysa de särskilda egenskaperna hos Santorinis ”terroir”. Fjärde generationens vinmakare är George Gavalas och den femte är hans son, Vagelis. Med respekt för de lokala sorterna är vi fokuserade på begränsad produktion buteljering. Gavalas vingård vinifierar den mest levande sorten i Grekland, Assyrtiko, samt Aidani, Mandilaria och Mavrotragano. För att visa markens rikedom är vi den enda vingården på Santorini som vinifierar de inhemska sällsynta sorterna Katsano och Voudomato.

Wine Museum Koutsogiannopoulos
Detta unika museum ligger inbäddat i en grotta och på grund av sitt unika läge är denna naturliga labyrint åtta meter under marken och 300 meter lång. Det tog vår familj tjugoett år av hårt arbete, tålamod och uthållighet att slutföra vinmuseet på denna anmärkningsvärda plats, men det var allt värt det.

My wife and I went on a wine tour with Christos all over Santorini and it was incredible! He arrived promptly at the designated time and place then gave us introductions. We discussed our plan of the day, things to visit, lunch time, and winery we were seeing. We were given the flexibility to choose whichever order we wanted and that if we wanted to do something different we could let him know. The car we were driven around in was a beautiful luxury sedan with a very nice interior and comfortable seats. Once on the trip, our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the entire island of Santorini, showing us the perfect picture spots, telling us the history of the island and how the island functions now with the tourism. He took great photos at every stop and took us to places that no one but a local would know for incredible views. He was a great driver who knew the ins and outs of the craziness that is the Santorini Roads. The lunch place we went to was right on the black beach and the food was phenomenal. Freshly caught fish and a huge wine selection (we had to hold off from that though because we had the winery next). The winery we went to, Artemis Karamolegos, was so nice. Christos walked us inside where the staff was already waiting for us with a table. We were given a tasting of 5 wines, 3 whites, a rosé, and a dessert wine. My wife who before this trip refused to drink any wine at all not only agreed to try a sip but actually liked them. The whites and dessert wine are unlike any other whites you’ll have from outside of Santorini. And the Rosé tasted like peaches! If you need a way to have a tour of Santorini we could not recommend anyone else except for Santorini Pickups!
Fanny was fantastic, very knowledgeable about our wine tasting tour. Our other driver, Christian, was great as well. I would highly recommend both people, they made our trip a great memory.

This was our best tour on Santorini. It has a 5 star rating for a reason. Fani and Elias were knowledgeable about the wine culture based on the island. We got some behind the curtain tours at each winery that you just won't get anywhere else. Thank you for an amazing evening!
We had a great experience for the winery tour during our honeymoon. Our driver was Elias and he was very friendly, knowledgeable about the Greek history and very flexible with our needs. He went the extra mile for us to have a great time and do as much as we could during the time of the tour. We ended up hiring him again for our transfer to the ferry port the next day. Very recommended!!
The wine tasting and splendid lunch was delicious. George, thank you for the excellent tour tips. Your knowledge is greatly appreciatef it. We learn a lot from the wineries and meals. Highly recommended.
Fani was absolutely amazing guide who made the experience very personable for our family! The dinner was delicious and the sunset spot was fabulous!!
Had an amazing private tour with Fanny who was incredibly knowledgeable about wine as well as very friendly and professional, and a great driver. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone else, we had an absolute blast. Snacks were plentiful enough to count as dinner.
