Kos Wildlife Walks: birdwatching and animal photography

What a brilliant few hours we spent birdwatching with George. He is a fantastic guide, with a wealth of interesting insight into life on Kos, its wildlife and birds. We saw a number of species around Tigaki saltpan and the surrounding coastal scrub. These included Curlew Sandpiper, Black-winged Stilt, Stone Curlew/Thick-Knee, Ringed Plover and Whinchat. 25 species in total, and we just missed European Bee-eater too. If we had gone in Spring I am sure there would be an even greater density of birds too. As much as anything we just thoroughly enjoyed two hours in George’s engaging company. His work recycling plastic on the island is a great and much needed initiative too. Would highly recommend anyone - from beginner birders to expert twitchers - should get in touch with him. He provided photos and an e-bird checklist of the bird we saw, and handed on extremely helpful info on other places to visit on the island. Thanks so much George!

We had the best time with George and I would highly recommend booking a walk. He is the rare blend of personable and extremely knowledgeable. He showed us some amazing wildlife that has given me memories that will last forever. I have been telling others about the facts we learnt on the trip. I will definitely come back to learn more!

We arranged to spend one and a half days with George to take us to various habitats on Kos to search for butterflies and birds. George researched the habitats we needed to explore very well. He arranged the car hire and picked us up from the hotel on time. The whole experience was fantastic. George is friendly, knowledgeable and patient and a pleasure to spend time with. Besides birds and butterflies he showed us some amazing invertebrates, reptiles and amphibians. We can thoroughly recommend George.
