After the welcome we proceed to make the tiramisu. A break with appetizers and prosecco and then we will make pasta and ravioli which we will eat with the condiments chosen by them while sipping a good local wine.

This cooking class was a highlight of our trip to Lake Garda! Mariolina was SO wonderful and was an incredible teacher! The experience felt very authentic and personal. She made delicious appetizers for us to share prior to making the pasta, and the pasta we made was so amazing as well. Highly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to have a true Italian cooking class.
A must-do experience Lago di Garda! Best cooking class I’ve taken. What a fantastic evening. Mario is perfect. The class itself is very informative, food was incredible and we all had so much fun. We made Tiramisu (best I’ve ever had), then Mario provided us with wonderful appetizers, and then we made two types of pasta. Also had yummy limoncello and wine! Mario was also super helpful in getting us a taxi to her home. Her home (and dogs) are so cute. We will miss you Mario, you’re always welcome in Chicago! ♥️🫶🏻
We had a fantastic time. The host was fabulous with our girls, one of whom is disabled. I would highly recommend this, it was a highlight of our trip.
This was the best pasta I have ever had in my life. Mario was an excellent teacher and host. She made us feel so welcomed and really made us comfortable with other strangers in the class. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone traveling in the Desenzano/Lake Garda area. She’s only about a 10 min walk from the train station too so even if you’re coming from Milan or Venice it could be a perfect day trip activity!
This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. From the moment Maria welcomed us into her beautiful home in Desenzano, we felt like we were visiting a friend rather than attending a cooking class. As we cooked, we learned so much about Maria—her love of cooking, her passion for art, and the joy she finds in sharing both with others. We started by making the most delicious tiramisu from scratch before learning how to prepare fresh pasta dough. While the dough rested, Maria treated us to an incredible spread of homemade appetizers that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Then came the pasta! Maria patiently taught us how to shape three different varieties—tagliatelle, ravioli, and tortellini. Her instructions were easy to follow, and it was such a rewarding experience to create everything by hand. Every dish we made was absolutely incredible. The local wines and homemade limoncello were an added bonus. What made this experience so special wasn't just the amazing food—it was the warmth and hospitality. Maria made us feel like part of her family, sharing stories, laughs, music, dancing and traditions throughout the evening. To top it all off, she sent us home with leftover tiramisu and one of her own handmade pieces of artwork, two thoughtful gifts that we'll always treasure. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience that goes far beyond a typical cooking class, this is it. We left with new skills, full hearts, and unforgettable memories. I would recommend this experience a million times over. Thank you, Maria, for opening your home and sharing your incredible talents with us!!
We had the most amazing evening with Mariolina is Desenzano. 6 friends were warmly welcomed into Mariolina's home. We started by making tiramisu in 2 groups of 3 before moving to making individual pasta dough and learning how to shape tortellini, ravioli and tagliatelle. We were served appetisers with prosecco whilst Mariolina cooked our pasta which was served with local wine. The meal was finished off with our tiramisu and home made limoncello. Mariolina was a delight and a great teacher. Easy & quick to communicate with. We arrived as 6 friends and left as 7! I would highly recommend this authentic experience.
We had a wonderful time cooking with ‘Mario’. She was such a fun and helpful chef!! We enjoyed cooking, learning and eating in her beautiful home. I would definitely book again. Easy to find, parking near by and delicious food and wine. Thanks so much Mario!!!
From even before we arrived, Mariolina made us feel so welcome. We asked if we could do a different pudding as the 2 of us don’t like tiramisu. We chose the chocolate charlotte - delicious! She asked what fillings and sauces we’d like with our pasta, from a list of choices. On arrival, a warm welcome, and 2 cute little dogs. Making the pasta was so much fun - a first for us. Then sitting to eat her amazing appetisers, while the dough relaxed. Music played while we created our ravioli, tortellini and linguine, before sitting down to eat it. The bolognaise was superb, and almost no room for dessert! We took home what we couldn’t finish- it didn’t last long as our other family members enjoyed them! Mariolina was a great teacher and great with my 11 year old. Would 100% recommend. Great value for moneu.
