Day 1: Trabzon Surroundings
Overnight at a hand-picked 3-star hotel. - Sumela Monastery See the iconic Sumela Monastery, situated above the clouds on a cliff. This 1600-year-old Orthodox Christian Monastery sits 1200 meters up in the air among the Pontic Mountains. It is truly an incredible sight. The interior boasts frescoes from the 18th-century and was used until 1923 when it became a museum.
- Uzungöl is called 'the end of the Earth' by local people and it is the symbol of Trabzon city. It is a must-see place with its natural beauty.
Day 2: See the City of Trabzon
- Trabzon Hagia Sophia Museum It was built in 1238-1263 and used for different purposes such as a church, hospital, store, and mosque during World War I. It became a museum after 1964, and today it is being used as a mosque again. Although it is a mosque now, Hagia Sophia still has much Christian art in it.
- Trabzon Kalesi Trabzon castle is one of the symbols of Trabzon city and we can say that it has managed to protect itself until today. The castle is located on one of the highest points of the city. It gives the opportunity to see the nature and to feel the history at the same time.
