Basilica of St. John
One of the twelve apostles, St John lived his final years in Ephesus. Once he was exiled to the Greek island Patmos where he wrote his Gospel and then turned back to Ephesus. This church was built 6th century AD, by Roman emperor Justinia and the tomb of St John is believed to lie under the main dome.

The history of Ephesus always amazed me and this trip beside seeing what I know. The tour guide who took us there enriched my understanding of the history in that area. Hakan is knowledgeable and friendly. Also he is very attentive to details as I made a mistake during booking which I put the wrong hotel info. He is able to figure it out and left a message with the hotel staff where I actually staying to ensure I aware of the pick up time. He also plan the trip well to begin the trip thru a scenic route to let us see and experience the country side, while at Ephesus , he gave suggestion about when we have time to take photos so he can have dedicated time to show us the key archeological finding at the site beside enabling us to have time for photos and exploration of the site. I am grateful and happy to have him as our guide
The best ancient site ever seen. So big and much to see, ecperience. Especially the library and theater. Wont regret. Strongly advise. Better doing the tour with a guide. You must really be here !!!!
