Grasse
Grasse is a major town in the middle country of the French Riviera located in the west of the department of Alpes-Maritimes 12 km north of Cannes on the Mediterranean coast. Grasse is the world capital of perfume, supplanting Montpellier whose Faculty of Pharmacy was the source of the creation of ointments and perfumes. Discover its cobblestone streets dating back to medieval times and its historic buildings.

Boutique Fragonard
Installed since 1926 in this magnificent factory, tannery in the 18th century, it became a perfumery factory at the very beginning of the following century. Completely renovated and sublimated in 2013, it offers an original journey of discovery of the mysteries of traditional perfumery, from the processing of raw materials to the packaging of finished products. The machines used, from copper stills to soap workshops, offer historical, social and cultural interest in the techniques and working conditions governing family perfumery until the 1950s.

Just arrived back from a great day out on the perfume and wine tasting tour. Billie, our guard, was fantastic, communication was excellent, both prior to pick up and during the tour. She was very informative regarding the tour, the history of Nice and the places we stopped at. Would definitely recommend this tour, it gives you an insight about perfume making and wine production along with some lovely towns to explore, all in a relaxed environment at a great cost. There were only 4 on the tour of which the two young ladies with us also made the day a success

From start to finish this trip was superb. My husband and I had been wanting to visit this area for years and it was a dream come true. From the Grasse perfumerie , to the wine tasting it was a delight to the senses. The Provençal villages are steeped in history and beautifully preserved. Our guide Jaoued was knowledgable, professional and went the extra mile to make sure we had wonderful time. This trip well exceeded all our expectations and we have memories to treasure. I would highly recommend this tour - it was magical.
Our guide was knowledgeable but also gave us space to explore independently. That balance worked really well for us.It was nice to sit down after exploring all day and discover some local Provençal wines.

For me, the highlight was seeing a completely different side of the French Riviera. Away from the busy streets of Nice, everything became quieter and more traditional. Grasse had its own unique charm, the villages were beautiful, and the wine tasting was a relaxed ending to a wonderful day.
A day full of beautiful smells, stone streets, countryside views and good wine, what’s not to like? 😄 Grasse was fascinating, the villages were incredibly photogenic, and the tasting was a fun way to learn more about the region.
We were lucky enough to get Ben as our tour guide. With 17+ years of experience, he was very knowledgeable in describing the history of the places we visited. Ben was fluent in English which made it very easy and comfortable to converse with him. Overall the tour was interesting and charming. Highly recommend Ben and Viator.
