Beginnen Sie Ihren Tag auf karpatische Weise : früh, frisch und voller Licht. Treffen Sie Ihren Fortgeschrittener um 8 : 30 Uhr an der Alpha Bank (alte Taxistation) in Pigadia und steigen Sie aus, bevor sich die Sommerhitze legt. Innerhalb weniger Minuten rutscht die Stadt hinter Sie und der Weg beginnt zu steigen – vorbei an alten Stavlos und silbernen Olivenfeldern, neben Ihnen glitzert die Ägäis. Wenn Sie an Höhe gewinnen, öffnet sich der Blick immer weiter und zeigt Pigadien von oben und die südlichen Dörfer, die entlang der Küste wie kleine weiße Pinselstriche verstreut sind. Ihr Ziel ist die friedliche Agia Kyriaki Kapelle, die normalerweise für einen Besuch geöffnet ist. Es ist ein perfekter Ort, um im Schatten zu pausieren, die Landschaft zu genießen und einen ruhigen Moment abseits des Trubels zu genießen. Von hier aus geht es weiter durch einen Kiefernwald, wo die Luft kühler und nach Harz duftend wird. Zwischen den Bäumen erhaschen Sie wiederholt „Wow“-Ausblicke auf die Ostküste – blaues Wasser, schroffe Hügel und Pigadien, die sich unten entfalten. Am späten Vormittag sind Sie gegen 11 Uhr 30 wieder in der Stadt, mit salziger Luft in den Lungen, Fotos auf Ihrem Handy und diesem befriedigenden Leuchten nach dem Spaziergang. Perfekt walk, a lot of usefull information Renate is very helpfull and ready to answer any kind of question allso not concerning the actual walking tour.

Excellent walk provided by Reneta. First part of the walk is on asphalt surface and the return is through a pine tree forest. If u enjoy hiking it is a nice walk and conviently located from Pigadia. Nice views of the surrounding area. Thank you Reneta !

This was more than a walk with a professional tour guide. Renate not only knows all about everyday life in Karpathos, herbs, diving, Karpathian history and culture. She is 100 % committed in a warm and friendly way and so eager to make you understand Karpathos. I strongly recommend you to take part of what Art and Walk offers. You might even end up drinking sage tea with new friends next to the prettiest greek church!
We were lucky to have this walk alone with Renate, just the three of us. It was a very nice walk/climb up the mountain and into the forrest. Renate tells a lot of interesting facts about the nature and the island. And she is also very interested in hearing about you. We enjoyed every moment, even though it was quite a challenging walk. Sticks are needed!
