Blockley
Wir fahren von Moreton-in-Marsh über Bourton-on-the-Hill nach Blockley, einem wunderschönen Dorf, in dem viele Gebäude aus der Zeit stammen, als es das Zentrum der Seidenspinnerei war. Es ist auch als Drehort der beliebten BBC-Serie „Father Brown“ bekannt.

Chipping Campden
Wir halten in Chipping Campden, einer Stadt, die für ihre Bedeutung im Cotswold-Wollhandel bekannt ist. Wir besichtigen die Wollkirche und andere historische Gebäude der Stadt. Reisende können die Hauptstraße entlangschlendern und die Cafés und unabhängigen Geschäfte besuchen.

Broadway Tower
Wir nehmen eine Panoramaroute zum Broadway Tower, wo wir im Besucherzentrum parken. Reisende gehen dann zum Turm, um die Aussicht zu genießen.

Snowshill
Wir fahren weiter zum wunderschönen Snowhill, einem der am meisten fotografierten Dörfer in den Cotswolds, wo wir anhalten, um umherzuwandern und die Aussicht zu genießen.

Broadway
Anschließend fahren wir von Snowhill nach Broadway und kommen dabei an einigen malerischen Cottages am Straßenrand vorbei. Wir können anhalten, um die Kirche St. Aldhelm und St. Eadburgha aus dem 13. Jahrhundert zu besuchen. In Broadway gibt es viele unabhängige Geschäfte, Cafés und Pubs. Dies ist also eine perfekte Gelegenheit, um zu Mittag zu essen und ein wenig einzukaufen.

Longborough
Nachdem wir Broadway verlassen haben, passieren wir auf unserem Weg zu unserem nächsten Halt in Lower Slaughter die schönen Cotswold-Dörfer Longborough, Lower Swell, Upper Slaughter und andere.

Lower Slaughter
Wir halten in Lower Slaughter, um dieses berühmte Dorf mit seiner Wassermühle, seinem Bach und seinen malerischen Cottages zu erkunden.

Bourton-on-the-Water
Wir verlassen Lower Slaughter und erreichen die nahegelegene Stadt Bourton-on-the-Water. Diese ist berühmt für den Fluss Windrush, der durch das Zentrum des Dorfes fließt und über den fünf Fußgängerbrücken führen. Diese Stadt ist bei Touristen sehr beliebt und bietet viele Sehenswürdigkeiten.

Stow-on-the-Wold
Anschließend fahren wir weiter in die Stadt Stow-on-the-Wold, die höchstgelegene Stadt in den Cotswolds. Auch hier gibt es auf dem großen Stadtplatz viele unabhängige Geschäfte und Cafés.

Moreton-in-Marsh
Anschließend fahren wir von Stow-on-the-Wold zurück zum Bahnhof Moreton-in-Marsh oder zum mit den Reisenden vereinbarten endgültigen Ort. Dies ist das Ende der Tour.

Für Gäste, die aus London kommen und am Bahnhof Moreton-in-Marsh abgeholt werden, Der Zug von Paddington London kommt um 10.18 Uhr an. Die Tour beginnt nach dieser Zeit.

Having our own private tour of the Cotswolds was the highlight of our UK trip. Johnny had son much knowledge of the area and history- we were blown away by the details! We learned about the importance of hedges and its impact on ecology, history of rock walls, the architecture, the way of life in that area, the people who live there and had a wonderful lunch spot chosen for us. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped off at the train station. We were grateful for the convenience, attention to detail and the personal service.
