Blockley
We rijden van Moreton-in-Marsh via Bourton-on-the-Hill naar Blockley, een prachtig dorp waar veel van de gebouwen dateren uit de tijd dat het het centrum was van een zijdespinnerij. Het staat ook bekend als de locatie van een populaire BBC-serie; Vader Bruin.

Chipping Campden

Broadway Tower

Snowshill
We rijden verder naar het prachtige Snowhill, een van de meest gefotografeerde dorpen in de Cotswolds, waar we stoppen om rond te dwalen en van het uitzicht te genieten.

Broadway
Vervolgens rijden we van Snowhill naar Broadway, waarbij we enkele pittoreske huisjes langs de weg passeren. Mogelijk stoppen we om de kerk van St. Aldhelm en St. Eadburgha te bezoeken, daterend uit de 13e eeuw. Broadway heeft veel onafhankelijke winkels, cafés en pubs, dus dit is een perfecte gelegenheid om te lunchen en te winkelen.

Longborough
Nadat we Broadway hebben verlaten, passeren we de mooie Cotswold-dorpen Longborough, Lower Swell, Upper Slaughter en anderen op weg naar onze volgende stop in Lower Slaughter.

Lower Slaughter
We stoppen bij Lower Slaughter om dit beroemde dorp met zijn watermolen, beek en pittoreske huisjes te verkennen.

Bourton-on-the-Water
We verlaten Lower Slaughter en komen aan in de nabijgelegen stad Bourton-on-the-Water. Dit staat bekend om de rivier de Windrush die door het centrum van het dorp stroomt en wordt doorkruist door vijf loopbruggen. Deze stad is erg populair bij toeristen en heeft vele bezienswaardigheden.

Stow-on-the-Wold
Vervolgens rijden we verder naar de stad Stow-on-the-Wold, de hoogste stad in de Cotswolds. Dit heeft weer veel onafhankelijke winkels en cafés op het grote stadsplein.

Moreton-in-Marsh
Vervolgens rijden we van Stow-on-the-Wold terug naar het treinstation van Moreton-in-Marsh, of de uiteindelijke locatie die met de reizigers is afgesproken. Dit zal het einde van de tour zijn.

Having our own private tour of the Cotswolds was the highlight of our UK trip. Johnny had son much knowledge of the area and history- we were blown away by the details! We learned about the importance of hedges and its impact on ecology, history of rock walls, the architecture, the way of life in that area, the people who live there and had a wonderful lunch spot chosen for us. We were picked up at our hotel and dropped off at the train station. We were grateful for the convenience, attention to detail and the personal service.
