Panoramica
Hike will meet our office in downtown Asheville at 8:30am, and will last approximately 4-5 hours including transportation time. Snacks are included, but transportation is not. Transportation between Asheville and the trailhead (including hotel pickup) can be added for an additional fee. Your guide can provide trekking poles upon request at no additional charge.
We hike rain or shine! Hikers should arrive prepared for all weather conditions and pack a rain jacket, an extra warm layer, and water. We may cancel or reschedule your hike in the event of severe or dangerous weather conditions.

Absolutely wonderful experience with Bev. The hike far exceeded my expectations. Bev was very informative about the area and provided a great history lesson along the way. We hiked the Art Loeb trail which was so nice and peaceful. Great mountain views and perfect weather. I will definitely be scheduling another hike with Bev for sure!!

She took our group: a mom and two adult daughters on an incredible hike through the Pisgah trails. Bev is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the local terrain, trails, and history, but what truly set her apart was her amazing energy. She was so warm, friendly, and engaging, instantly connecting with all three of us and making the entire hike feel effortless and fun. As an added bonus, Bev is a fantastic photographer! She captured stunning shots of our day together and shared them with us, giving us beautiful memories to hold onto. We couldn't have asked for a better guide to explore Pisgah with. Thank you, Bev!
Fantastic half-day of hiking! Melissa was awesome. She suggested some options for hikes along the Blue Ridge Parkway and we were able to take in Black Balsam Knob, Skinny Dip Falls, and Fryingpan Mountain lookout tower, along with a stop for a very tasty snack. This was a great way to see some spectacular scenery, learn more about the history and flora and fauna and culture of the area, and generally have a great day out.
We had a great time with our guide Bev McDowell! She knows “the good spots”! Great trails, fabulous scenery, and a spectacular waterfall where we were the only people there! Bev also points out many wildflowers and mushrooms. And she brought along drinks and snacks for us. She’s also a great photographer, sending us lots of pics of our smiling group. Thanks, Bev!
Anna Conard was a phenomal tour guide. She contacted us prior to the hike to ask about special requests and fitness levels. Anna was flexible and patient when we were running a bit late, she tailored the hike to our preferences and provided a wealth of knowledge regarding the history of the trail, it’s landscape and flora. Her engaging personality and knowledge of the Asheville area was extremely impressive and appreciated, we would highly recommend Anna as a guide!

I had a wonderful half-day birthday hike with Bev! I occasionally have knee issues, so we took it pretty easy and went up a fire tower (this was really cool and also very windy, but we did it!) and also visited a couple of waterfalls. Bev was very prepared and had extra warm clothes, hiking poles, all the snacks I could ever want, and even a birthday treat. She took lots of pictures and was great company. I loved chatting with her about books and life. BRHC handled all of the logistics well and I found it easy to organize my trip with them as a solo traveler. Hope to hike with you again Bev!
Bev was such an exceptional tour guide. My daughter and I loved our half day hike with her. She was so knowledgeable and we felt so safe and entertained with her being our guide. What a fun day - we will def come see her again for a full day during the summer/ fall.
