We did the three-hour boat trip on the Buru boat and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our time in Naxos. From the moment we set off, Voula, Popi and Dimitris were absolutely wonderful. Voula told us so much about Naxos, the surrounding area, the boat and, most fascinating of all, the role her extended family plays in preparing for the trips. So much of what is served on board comes directly from the family – from the tomatoes and other produce they grow, to the goat’s cheese and even the salt they harvest themselves. It gave the whole experience such an authentic, personal feel and we loved hearing the stories behind everything. Dimitris was incredibly generous with his time and particularly kind to our four-year-old son, Bodhi. He let him help navigate the boat, which was without question the thrill of the day for him! They also took wonderful photographs throughout the trip, so we came away with some lovely memories. And then there was the food! Popi prepared what we can genuinely say was one of the best meals we have ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared and so well executed. Knowing where so many of the ingredients had come from made it even more special. The boat trip itself was fantastic. We visited beautiful caves and stopped at gorgeous swimming spots where the sea was unbelievably clear. It was the perfect combination of sightseeing, swimming, great food and learning a little more about Naxos and the people who live here. The value for money is exceptional. You essentially have a captain, a chef and a local guide, all providing a wonderfully personal service and making sure you enjoy every part of the experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute and would recommend this trip without hesitation to anyone visiting Naxos. A beautiful, authentic and memorable experience with a genuinely lovely crew. We had a fabulous afternoon with Buru Boat in Naxos! There were eight of us on the boat, and we loved every minute. Our guide was so personable and wonderful, and the food was phenomenal. We learned so much about the history and culture of Naxos, as well as the nearby small islands we could see from the boat. The food was beyond delicious, beautifully presented, and more than enough for everyone. We stopped several times to swim in the beautiful, refreshing water, with an opportunity to jump from the rocks over a cave for anyone who wanted to! The entire experience was relaxing, fun, and extraordinary. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend Buru Boat!

Nothing short of spectacular! If you are considering a boating day during your time on Naxos Buru Boat is an outstanding option. We are a family of 4, the boat is the ideal size and Voula’s tour guide knowledge and Poppy’s sensational food made the day the highlight of our stay on Naxos. The 1.5 hour drive through the mountain villages only added to the experience.
