Tijdens deze twee uur durende culinaire wandeling over het plateau van Croix-Rousse laat uw sommelier u de streek ervaren als een local: u proeft en leert, in plaats van alleen maar bezienswaardigheden te bekijken. Ga naar Gros Caillou voor een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad, steek vervolgens Place de la Croix-Rousse en Grande Rue over, de oude winkelstraat van het dorp. Onderweg zal uw sommelier elke Lyonnaise specialiteit toelichten terwijl u deze proeft. Bij de slagerij kiest u uw vleeswaren, bij Maison Pralus proeft u de beroemde roze praline en bij de kaaswinkel selecteert u uw kazen. Dit alles door vanaf de hoofdstraat een omweg te maken door de rustige steegjes van het plateau. De ervaring eindigt in de Cave Tabareau, op het Place Tabareau, met een echte oenologische workshop: u leert een selectie wijnen uit de Rhônevallei en lokale wijnen te bekijken, ruiken en proeven, hun terroir te begrijpen en ze te combineren met uw eigen producten. Je vertrekt als een ware expert in de hoofdstad van de gastronomie!

Our tour guide and new friend, Louis, was exceptional! Saying he was knowledgeable is an understatement. He walked us through local routes of Lyon, explaining the history and also local cultural information. He was incredibly personable, walked with our pace, and made us feel immersed. He guided us to the best fromagerie and butcher shop, where he selected the most popular choices and he also asked us our preferences as well. We ended up at the most beautifully intimate cellar where we enjoyed our charcuterie. Louis walked us through how to pair specific wines with certain cheeses, he is a true sommelier! We ended up leaving with full bellies, full hearts, and a grocery bag full of wine and other goodies. We would come back to Lyon, just to do this tour again! 10/10 experience!
Our tour guide, Louis, was seriously the best. He was so informed of the ins and outs of Lyon. He took us to places that weren’t so crowded and we ended the tour with an intimate charcuterie and wine pairing experience. I reccommend you book this tour immediately! Louis was amazing! From the walk through the city and thorough explanations of its history, to showing us its boutique and special gastronomy throughout - it was so special. We were then educated about wine and how to pair it with the selected foods. He was so knowledgeable and we found it so easy to learn and understand the information he presented. If you are visiting Lyon, this is worth your time and money if you’re looking for something that is dedicated to the city and its history - but without the tourist traps! Thank you Louis, we hope to be back!

Could not have been a better experience. We were able to try and pair half a dozen cheeses, a few charcuteries, and some pastries. Learned some history as well. Great time, 10/10.
