Mount Sibayak
O Monte Sibayak é um estratovolcão localizado em Sumatra do Norte, na Indonésia, perto da cidade de Berastagi e a cerca de 50 quilômetros de Medan. É um dos vulcões mais acessíveis de Sumatra e é popular entre os caminhantes e turistas devido à sua escalada relativamente fácil e atividade geotérmica dramática. O dia começa às 4 da manhã com um hotel de pick-up de carro. A caminhada dura 1,5 - 2 horas até o topo do Monte Sibayak. Desfrute de chá/café e um pequeno-almoço leve. Had an incredible trip! From the pick up to the end my guide Frita made the trip a very fun and unforgettable experience! Knowledgeable about everywhere we went and sharing lots of facts about the local culture. But what stood out most was her sense of humour, never laughed so much on a tour! We had a very enjoyable day with Windy our guide and her driver Ari. They were both caring and spent most of the day showing us around Berastagi, walk up the volcano at dawn, hot springs, visiting churches and markets and shared lunch with us. It was a comfortable ride also and we felt safe and every thing was planned and well organised. Windy was also a lot of fun and loved to take our photos. Highly recommend.
Had a awesome experience hiking to the top of Sibayak, the hotsprings and a tour around Berastagi. She knows a lot about the environment and takes the time to explain everything.

Wiwin (Windy) is a unique woman and guide. I spent four days with her, both in Berastagi and in the Lake Toba area. Not only does Windy have a wide range of knowledge about the local area and the Batak people, she has a wonderful sense of humor, is extremely easy-going and flexible and made my time in North Sumatra truly special. But there’s more. I came down with an extreme stomach problem and was unable to help myself. Windy immediately jumped into action and brought me to a nearby clinic where I was treated immediately. Had she not been there, I don't know what I would have done. I have traveled for many years and have been with guides all over the world. I can honestly say Windy was amongst the very best, and I look forward to returning to Sumatra soon to hire her again. Highly recommended!
I had an absolutely brilliant experience on the Sibayak tour, made even better by my wonderful guide, Vitri. From the moment we started, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of positive energy, making the hike both enjoyable and memorable. The track was a great adventure with stunning views along the way and reaching the summit in time to enjoy the incredible scenery was truly worth it. Vitri shared interesting local insights, kept the atmosphere fun with plenty of laughs and always made sure everyone was comfortable and motivated. The tour was well organised, great value for money and had the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. If you're visiting North Sumatra and considering a trip to Mount Sibayak, I couldn't recommend it more and if you get Vitri as your guide, you're in for a real treat!
