One of the absolute highlights of our time in Greece and an experience we will never forget! Olive Roots in Androusa is so much more than an olive oil and wine tasting; it is a beautiful celebration of Greek culture, tradition, community, and hospitality. Dimitra was an exceptional wine guide, knowledgeable, energetic, and genuinely passionate about the wines and the region. Athanasia brought that same passion to our olive oil experience, sharing centuries-old olive-growing traditions and the artistry behind producing exceptional local olive oil. What makes Olive Roots truly special is its female-led spirit and deep connection to a tiny village of only about 300 people. These women have created something remarkable by embracing their heritage and sharing it so generously with visitors from around the world. And the lunch prepared by Georgina was simply outstanding, completely homemade, fresh, savoury, and made with local ingredients. Every bite tasted like Greece. The warmth, pride, generosity, and gratitude of everyone we met made us feel less like tourists and more like honoured guests. If you are near Kalamata, do not miss Olive Roots in Androusa. Come for the olive oil and wine, but stay for the people, the food, the stories, and the incredible sense of place. 🇬🇷🫒🍷 Thank you, Dimitra, Athanasia, Georgina, and the entire Olive Roots team for an unforgettable experience!
Wonderful tour, learnt so much, fun, wine was beautiful. Lunch delicious! Enjoyed it so much.
This was by far one of the best experiences of our trip to Greece! Dimitra was absolutely wonderful warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and so genuinely passionate about Greek culture and olive oil. She made everyone feel welcome and kept the experience fun and interactive with a fantastic mystery game. The olive oil tasting was exceptional. Dimitra explained everything in such depth and with such clarity that we learned how to truly appreciate and distinguish the different oils. And the food was outstanding! Everything was organic, homemade, fresh, and prepared with so much care. Honestly, this was the best meal we have had in Greece! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Do not visit Greece without doing this tour! It is so much more than an olive oil tasting it is an authentic, unforgettable taste of Greek culture, food, tradition, and hospitality. Thank you, Dimitra, for an incredible experience we will remember for a long time! 🇨🇦
We had an amazing time at this tour, from the knowledge to the food, everything was just perfect! We could not recommend it enough, definitely a must if you come to Greece!! Every single staff member was extremely kind and knowledgeable!
Amazing experience with excellent guidance and really tasty food!! Recommended for sure if you will be around!!
This tour and lunch was excellent. We learned a lot about olive oil production, and the guide and hosts were fantastic. The lunch was very good and we consisted of light, healthy foods that differed from anything we’d been able to be at local tavernas, etc. Our 8 year old was unusually well behaved and they were great with him. We had a good time getting to know the other guests over lunch. I highly recommend this tour if in the Kalamata area.
10/10. We had a phenomenal tour guide who gave us a treasure hunt in the Olive groves, above stunning views of Kalamata! The wine tasting and charcuterie at a small privately owned winery devine, the olive oil mill and olive oil tasting was extremely interesting and we learnt so much. ( never had olive oil with dark chocolate ) And finally back to where we started and a farm to table lunch that tasted sublime with home made wine. The entire excursion was one of our best days in Kalamata. Thank you Dimitria!!!! Also - lots of great souvenirs can be picked up to take home. I love my olive oil bath soap.
So friendly and authentic and educational! Love how we supported a family business. I will forever appreciate Olives and Olive Oil now.
