One of the absolute highlights of our time in Greece and an experience we will never forget! Olive Roots in Androusa is so much more than an olive oil and wine tasting; it is a beautiful celebration of Greek culture, tradition, community, and hospitality. Dimitra was an exceptional wine guide, knowledgeable, energetic, and genuinely passionate about the wines and the region. Athanasia brought that same passion to our olive oil experience, sharing centuries-old olive-growing traditions and the artistry behind producing exceptional local olive oil. What makes Olive Roots truly special is its female-led spirit and deep connection to a tiny village of only about 300 people. These women have created something remarkable by embracing their heritage and sharing it so generously with visitors from around the world. And the lunch prepared by Georgina was simply outstanding, completely homemade, fresh, savoury, and made with local ingredients. Every bite tasted like Greece. The warmth, pride, generosity, and gratitude of everyone we met made us feel less like tourists and more like honoured guests. If you are near Kalamata, do not miss Olive Roots in Androusa. This was by far one of the best experiences of our trip to Greece! Dimitra was absolutely wonderful warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and so genuinely passionate about Greek culture and olive oil. She made everyone feel welcome and kept the experience fun and interactive with a fantastic mystery game. The olive oil tasting was exceptional. Dimitra explained everything in such depth and with such clarity that we learned how to truly appreciate and distinguish the different oils. And the food was outstanding! Everything was organic, homemade, fresh, and prepared with so much care. Honestly, this was the best meal we have had in Greece! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Do not visit Greece without doing this tour! It is so much more than an olive oil tasting it is an authentic, unforgettable taste of Greek culture, food, tradition, and hospitality.
