Castle Combe
The day begins in Castle Combe, which is surely one of the most photographed villages in all of England. Little has changed here since the 15th century - no street lights or TV aerials. This mediaeval gem is famous for its picturesque cottages and babbling brook. Nestled in a wooded Cotswold valley, Castle Combe has been a favourite Hollywood filming location over the years for movies including War Horse, Stardust and Doctor Dolittle.

Matthias is an extremely experienced and knowledgeable tour guide. He provided a wealth of knowledge on Bath and the cotswolds. He is enjoyable to be with, and we all appreciated his insights and humor. We had a wonderful day, and felt very taken care of. I highly recommend.
Mattius was super friendly and very knowledgable! He is enthusiastic about the history and details and it made him easy to listen to and learn from him! Thank you Mattius, for a delightful day in the Cotswolds!
It’s been a year since my mom, aunt, and I did the Captivating Cotswolds Tour with Matthias, and we still talk about it regularly and look back on it with so much fondness. Matthias’s communication leading up to the tour was clear, and we had no concerns or questions leading into the day. We spent the day looking at beautiful scenery, hearing about the history of the areas, architecture, and at times the food. There was something for everyone, and it felt like the more Matthias got to know us, the more he catered the tour to our interests. Also, it’s worth noting that all 3 of us are gluten free, and we were able to safely enjoy a lovely meal and drink at a quaint local restaurant. It was our favorite day of our trip, and we couldn’t recommend him enough. We can’t wait to come back and do another tour!
Matthias (Matt) was an outstanding tour guide. The tour we took was actually customized: Oxford and Blenheim Palace (and we drove through the Cotswolds on the way back to Bath). Matt’s knowledge of so many things is “off the charts”. Fabulous day and I think he spent a bit more time with us than he was contracted for.
5 Stars. Highly recommend booking a tour with Matthias. He is affable, knowledgeable, and engaging. I would happily book another day with him.
Matthias hosted us in the most personable, interesting and generous way. He shared so much knowledge and engaged us in many fact filled and thought provoking conversations. We were fully immersed in the astonishing beauty that is The Cotswolds. Don’t hesitate ; book your tour today!
Great two day tour to Bath and Cotswolds, visited Roman baths and small Cotswolds picturesque villages.
Matthias was absolutely amazing! We spend two days seeing the Cotswold and bath. These are must stop destinations and Matt made every minute exciting and comfortable! 10/10! He is a must book for your next trip!
