Visit the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the first pyramid ever built in ancient Egypt and a milestone in the history of architecture. Your Egyptologist guide will explain its significance and the evolution of pyramid construction. Explore the Pyramid of Unas, renowned for containing the earliest known Pyramid Texts, beautifully carved on its interior walls. You will also visit the Pyramid of Teti, which features impressive Pyramid Texts believed to help the king in his journey to the afterlife. The tour continues to the Tomb of Kagemni, one of Saqqara’s finest tombs, famous for its well-preserved scenes depicting daily life in ancient Egypt. After completing your visit to Saqqara, continue to Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt.

   The Sphinx of Memphis

   Your final stop is Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. Around 3200 BC, King Menes (Narmer) successfully unified Upper and Lower Egypt and established Memphis as the political and administrative center of the newly unified kingdom. Today, Memphis is an open-air museum showcasing some of the most impressive remains of ancient Egyptian civilization. Here, you will see the colossal statue of Ramses II, one of the largest statues ever discovered in Egypt, as well as the magnificent Alabaster Sphinx, one of the largest sphinx statues outside the Giza Plateau. Your Egyptologist guide will introduce you to the most important monuments and explain the historical significance of this ancient city. At the end of the tour, you will be comfortably transferred back to your hotel.
