After the house of the Virgin Mary, we will see the ancıent city off Ephesus a must-see if you are in Turkey. After Ephesus we go to visit the ruins of the temple of Artemis, the Basilic of Saint John, and the İsabey mosque

The House of the Virgin Mary
House of Virgin Mary er stedet der Mary kan ha tilbrakt sine siste dager. Faktisk kan hun ha kommet i området sammen med Saint John. Dette stedet ble offisielt erklært som et helligdom fra den romersk-katolske kirke i 1986, og siden har det blitt et populært sted for pilegrimsferd. Pave Paul VI besøkte helligdom i 1967. Besøket i huset (kirken) tar omtrent 45 minutter og etter vårt besøk; det vil være en 5 min kjøretur til Efesos.

Ephesus Ancient City
Efesos er et eksepsjonelt vitnesbyrd om kulturtradisjonene i de hellenistiske, romerske keiserlige og tidlige kristne perioder. Efesos er et viktig sted for kristendommen; å være en av de syv åpenbaringskirker. Apostelen Paulus tilbrakte sannsynligvis to og et halvt år i Efese under sin tredje misjonsreise. Om to timer skal du utforske byen ved å vandre i marmorgatene, ledsaget av vår engelsktalende turguide. I turen vil vi se Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens. Besøkene i Private House (såkalt bordell, ‘Terrace Houses’) er et valgfritt besøk for en ekstra 25 ₺ / person, og guiden din bør informeres før hånd. Etter terrassehus vil vi fortsette letingen med Celsus bibliotek, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, Arcadiane (Harbour Road).

The Temple of Artemis
Vi fortsetter med besøket til Temple of Artemis; som er et av de syv underverkene fra antikken. Her vil det være en god sjanse til å ta bilder av St.John-kirken og Moskeen til İsa Bey fra den beste vinkelen også.

Basilica of St. John

Isa Bey Mosque
Isa Bey-moskeen er et av de beste og viktige eksemplene som gjenspeiler slutten av Seljuk Empire-perioden sent på 14 år e.Kr. Carpets: We stopped at an outstanding, authentic local carpet cooperative, which has the absolute best, most gorgeous hand-woven silk and wool carpets you can find in the country. There was zero high-pressure sales stuff—just beautiful appreciation for high-end art and luxury goods. 🏆 THE VERDICT After weeks of traveling, this was exactly the kind of seamless, premium, stress-free day we needed. We had such a lovely tour of Ephesus with Gül! The archeological site is so stunning in person and our guide was so organized, punctual, and knowledgeable. Loved how she presented all the information and took us around while being mindful of our group's needs. Our driver Evren was also very professional and picked us up and dropped us off without having to wait long in the heat. They coordinated well together. We were picked up and dropped off at the port easily with plenty of time to spare before the gangway went up. Also the Turkish food at the co-op was so delicious. We are happy we went with Apasas!
The whole experience was excellent and very memorable! Gul, our tour guide was exceptional! She was very knowledgeable, friendly and I truly learned a lot about the history and culture of this beautiful country! I would highly recommend this tour with her as the guide!
The tour was great, the bus that we went with was comfortable and cool. Our tour guide’s (Gül) english was a bit hard for me to understand but I enjoyed it very much:)

Brilliant viewing of Ephesus, Mary’s house and The Temple of Artemis with superb tour guide Gül. Picked up and dropped off right outside the boat and there was a perfect balance of walking and sightseeing. Would recommend for those interested.
Our guide Gul and our driver Evran were excellent from start to finish. Superb communication before we disembarked the cruise ship; well structured for a multi age family group; compassionate for older members of the tour with specific needs. Visited Mary’s House, Ephesus and Temple of Artemis. Good balance of attention and free time. Offered a craft tour, but this was not forced on us when we declined. Amazing wealth of knowledge - we are now experts on Ancient Türkiye! Highly recommend.
