Today's program will bring you to the house of Virgin Mary where we believe she spent the last days of her live. After the house of the Virgin Mary, we will see the ancıent city off Ephesus a must-see if you are in Turkey. After Ephesus we go to visit the ruins of the temple of Artemis, the Basilic of Saint John, and the İsabey mosque

The House of the Virgin Mary
House of Virgin Mary är platsen där Mary kan ha tillbringat sina sista dagar. Faktum är att hon kan ha kommit i området tillsammans med Saint John. Denna plats förklarades officiellt till helgedom för den romersk-katolska kyrkan 1986 och sedan dess har den blivit en populär pilgrimsfärdplats. Påven Paul VI besökte helgedomen 1967. Besöket i huset (kyrkan) tar cirka 45 minuter och efter vårt besök; det kommer att vara en 5 min bilresa till Efesos.

Ephesus Ancient City
Efesos är ett exceptionellt vittnesbörd om de kulturella traditionerna under de hellenistiska, romerska kejsardagen och tidiga kristna perioder. Efesos är en viktig plats för kristendomen; att vara en av de sju uppenbarelsekyrkorna. Aposteln Paulus tillbringade antagligen två och ett halvt år i Efesus under sin tredje missionärsresa. Om två timmar ska du utforska staden genom att gå på marmorgatorna, tillsammans med vår engelsktalande reseguide. I vår turné kommer vi att se Odeon, State Agora, Prytaneion, Memmius Monument, Domatian Temple, Hercules Gate, Curetes Street, Hadrian Temple, Latriens. Besöken i privata huset (så kallad bordell, 'Terrasshus') är ett valfritt besök för en extra 25 ₺ / person och din guide bör informeras innan du kommer. Efter terrasshus fortsätter vi med utforskningen med Celsus-biblioteket, Marble Road, Commercial Agora, Great Theather, Arcadiane (Harbour Road).

The Temple of Artemis
Vi kommer att fortsätta med besöket i Temple of Artemis; vilket är ett av de sju underverk från antiken. Här kommer det att vara en god chans att ta bilder på St.John-kyrkan och İsa Bey-moskén också från bästa vinkel.

Basilica of St. John

Isa Bey Mosque
Isa Bey-moskén är ett av de bästa och viktiga exemplen som återspeglar slutet av Seljuk Empire-perioden i slutet av 14 år e.Kr. Carpets: We stopped at an outstanding, authentic local carpet cooperative, which has the absolute best, most gorgeous hand-woven silk and wool carpets you can find in the country. There was zero high-pressure sales stuff—just beautiful appreciation for high-end art and luxury goods. 🏆 THE VERDICT After weeks of traveling, this was exactly the kind of seamless, premium, stress-free day we needed. We had such a lovely tour of Ephesus with Gül! The archeological site is so stunning in person and our guide was so organized, punctual, and knowledgeable. Loved how she presented all the information and took us around while being mindful of our group's needs. Our driver Evren was also very professional and picked us up and dropped us off without having to wait long in the heat. They coordinated well together. We were picked up and dropped off at the port easily with plenty of time to spare before the gangway went up. Also the Turkish food at the co-op was so delicious. We are happy we went with Apasas!
The whole experience was excellent and very memorable! Gul, our tour guide was exceptional! She was very knowledgeable, friendly and I truly learned a lot about the history and culture of this beautiful country! I would highly recommend this tour with her as the guide!
The tour was great, the bus that we went with was comfortable and cool. Our tour guide’s (Gül) english was a bit hard for me to understand but I enjoyed it very much:)

Brilliant viewing of Ephesus, Mary’s house and The Temple of Artemis with superb tour guide Gül. Picked up and dropped off right outside the boat and there was a perfect balance of walking and sightseeing. Would recommend for those interested.
Our guide Gul and our driver Evran were excellent from start to finish. Superb communication before we disembarked the cruise ship; well structured for a multi age family group; compassionate for older members of the tour with specific needs. Visited Mary’s House, Ephesus and Temple of Artemis. Good balance of attention and free time. Offered a craft tour, but this was not forced on us when we declined. Amazing wealth of knowledge - we are now experts on Ancient Türkiye! Highly recommend.
